This Godox retro flash lux junior is a fun little flash! It is very lightweight yet made with sturdy hard plastic. Takes two aaa batteries and works on all brands of cameras since it use a simple single point hotshoe contact.I have the Sony A1 and i found that this flash does not work with the electronic shutter. I had to use mechanical shutter to trigger this flash. So if you have one of those advance flash ship cameras that triggers flash using electronic shutter, you know what to do :)This flash has simple control, practically speaking, the power output dial is all you need to worry about. The flash itself doesn’t tilt nor pivot, it locks onto the shoes shoe via a turn lock mechanism and gives a retro direct flash look. Just like the name suggest, it is a retro style flash.I can see people adding this flash on top of their retro style camera and finishing the look along with retro style photos!

Bought for a friends party that didn’t call for a bigger set up. Compact, easy to use, that works well!

Bought this for my 1950s Retina IIA, works great for the most part with vintage cameras but if you have a metal cold shoe you'll have to either hold it away from the camera or cover the contacts with electrical tape or it won't work with a PC Sync cable, would be nice if there was a cold/hot shoe selection option

This portable flash is definitely a unique one compared to most, as it's not as massive as most TTL flashes and flashes that can be used off-camera, although this one does still provide a solid amount of light. It is powered by two AAA batteries which is slightly annoying as I prefer lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, but it can be convenient for those who want to quickly "reload" their flash. This does get very bright, although does take a while to cycle/ re-charge after each full-power flash, which will most likely not be needed very often. At low brightness the flash cycles quite quickly. Overall definitely worth it if you want this style of flash and prefer portability.

I love the size of this little flash. BUT the refresh time between flashes is just too long. Especially when turning on the flash. The bootup time is way too lengthy. So much so I've needed to turn it off and on and try new batteries to make it faster but nothing.I love Godox products, but this one was just a miss for me. Even with a simple workflow. I'd upgrade to avoid these issues.

This flash is great, and performs reliably enough for any for-fun/hobbyist/casual usage. I've been very happy with it taking pictures when I'm spending time with friends, at weddings (as a guest), around the house, etc. If you know what you're doing, you can get good results with this. The automatic metering has been quite reliable, as long as you're aware that it is exposing for whatever is dead ahead of it, so you need to have your subject centered. Manual metering has worked exactly as I expect, but I rarely use it because I've had a lot of success with the auto metering.I use this with my film cameras, and so far have no complaints. I've also used it a couple of time with modern mirrorless cameras, and it's been fine for that too. Obviously for professional work I have a proper TTL flash on a digital camera, and a larger, more powerful manual flash for my film cameras. I wouldn't recommend this flash for that sort of work, but if I'm taking photos for fun, this is the flash I take with me.Attached are a few photos on B&W 35mm film, all taken with the auto-metering mode at the suggested settings (ISO 100 film, f/2.8)
