So I think it's weird that it's not innately magnetic, that's weird. The very first thing I noticed was a small ziploc bag that said there was a promotional product that didn't necessarily come with the product. My husband quickly installed it while I packed everything else. Surprisingly, it did take me a moment to get used to the touch. I thought that in this day in age it would be completely natural for me, but it wasn't.The flash was so bright, it was impressive! The battery was great but I didn't have any complaints on the last one. The flash definitely has a lot stronger of a build than the other Godox flashes, especially the V1. I don't think it would knock off as easily as that guy.

I was looking for a simple but powerful flash to replace my old tt685s and this v100 is a great fit. It works perfectly plug and play in TTL mode on my Sony camera. Once attached to the hot shoe and select TTL, I only need to specify the exposure and it just works. My camera can automatically identify it as an external flash and expose configures in the camera menu so that I can change them either from the flash touch screen OR from my camera menu.Compared to my tt685s, the improvements include: 1) rechargeable (7.2v 2980mAh 21.456Wh) vs 4x AA battery. The AA batteries are easy to stuck inside and hard to remove in the tt685s, 2) the hot shoe locker is much easier to use. Only half turn will lock it instead of rotating it multiple rounds. My v100 doesn't come with a diffuser, but it comes with a gift iron ring modifier mount (Godox RC1) to replace the plastic ring. With the metal ring, it should be possible to attach magnetic attachments to the flash.I also tried to control the v100 using my old Godox X1T s transmitter comes with my old flash. Surprisingly it works! But with this old transmitter, I cannot see the menus under the external flash in my Sony camera.Performance wise, I found it can deliver similar results as using external 100w LED lights from a light box.In general, this is an easy-to-use and powerful flash suitable for both normal and professional users. If you have some old Godox accessories, likely you can still use them with this new flash.

This is the newest camera flash from Godox. It looks very similar to the Godox V1 and V1 Pro. It has the similar look, shape, but more powerful, and easier to use. This is a 100Ws flash, that shoots over 70 bursts of light at full power. Recycle time is under 1 second when used with an external power source, 1.7 seconds with the internal battery.I got the Sony version, since 90% of cameras are all Sony. But this flash does work with all the Godox triggers. I have the X3 trigger in both Sony and Fujifilm versions. This flash works perfectly with both versions with no issues at all. This flash also sync with the global shutter on the Sony A9, up to 1/80000 shutter speed. That means the V100 can pretty much sync with any shutter speed. So far I have only tested on my A7C II and A7RIII, both worked fine. The newly designed rechargeable li-ion battery has a built-in USB-C port. Which allows direct charging with any USB-C charger and USB-C cable. This makes charging much easier, especially during traveling, no extra battery charger is needed. Can just use any cell phone or laptop chargers. The control screen is brand new, with a full color touch screen. It is 2.3”, big enough to clearly see all the settings, and easily change them by using the touch screen, or the dials. The touch screen is very intuitive, and easy to use. I can quickly access everything I need within seconds. One of the new features is the detachable sub flash. This is a very smart addition, which allows the V100 to act like 2 flashes in one. I can aim the main flash at the ceiling and the sub flash at the subject, so I can have the background lit, and also fill light for the subject at the same time. This is a great feature, allowing me to have different looks and feel with just one portable flash light. No special setup needed, just plug in the sub flash, and set the strength of the sub flash, and that’s all.So far this is my new favorite portable flash light. Easy to carry around and powerful enough for most of the shoots, no special setup needed. It’s going into my bag for my day time portable light for all my photos. I might need to get a couple more batteries to be used as backup, that way I can have enough power to last me all day.
