I bought my baritone Uke about a year and half ago and I love it. I play guitar and a little ukulele, but I love to play my BUB. didn't have to learn new chords and it is so much fun to play.

Spend a bit of.time and effort to set it up, break it in and make it your own instrument. You will find a fine intermediate uke. Poor reviews may be all about expectations. Yes, it needs a little TLC but it is where it should be for it's price. Play it for awhile, if you feel your playing has advanced, you can añways upgraded to a custom instrument. Find a fix to what you don't find right.

I absolutely love this instrument! I've had it now for close to three years and it is constantly my go to for playing and composing. The tone and playability after a minor set up are excellent. I actually had Goldtone make me a custom with a resonator body for a little more sustain and volume, but I find I still play the stock one way more. Easily worth the already reasonable price which includes the hard case.

I am really delighted with my Gold Tone baritone banjo uke. The strings it came with were not the greatest and setting it up was quite a bit of work. A new set of Aquilla red strings and some careful adjustment of the bridge and tension to get the intonation at least somewhere close made all the difference in the world. Tone is excellent, came with a very nice well fitting hard case. I have three banjos and this one is fast becoming my favorite "take along" instrument. I was a little disappointed with the Gold Tone factory. I e-mailed them some questions but never got a response. Everything said, it's a great little "baby banjo" for a fairly reasonable price.

I'm happy with this instrument, for the price (delivered to Australia) but I am probably going to rework the grooves in the nut so that strings 1 and 4 are not so perilously close to the edge of the fretboard. It would be nice to be given an option of low or high fourth string - I like high, even on the baritone. When I tried to replace this string, I found that the hole in the anchor plate had been left with significant burring that cost me a string before I woke up and filed it down.It was promptly delivered and very well packed.

I purchased this as that My wife has the Lanikai, and I wanted a Baritone version. I have contacted the company for accessories and the service was less than stellar. THe arm rest I purchased for this insturment did not fit the unit, fit and finish are bad, not pleased. I have had this reworked and now it is playable, however if I had to do it again I would go Lanikai, or with a Plectrum 4 string tuned DGBE. My experiance with Gold Tone will be a lasting one, and I will never by another gold tone product as long as I live..... Amazon is wonderful not there issue.
