The E3 cartridge, representing the top of the range features the same aluminium cantilever as the E2, but benefits from a superior, bonded, super-elliptical (0.3 x 0.7 mil) stylus. This gives it better high frequency detail retrieval over ordinary elliptical (0.4 x 0.7 mil) or spherical (0.6 mil) types due to its smaller front-to-back radius. The main effect is the reduction of sibilance, especially in high level vocal recordings

Needle sounds great!, install was easy! I think its as good as carts that are at least 100$ more. Enjoying it and it looks good on the player. Very smooth sound! Good price for performance!

Put it on my Denon DP60L. Tracks very well and presents a nice balance LP sound. Good value.

Stereophile rates this cartridge alongside my much more more expensive Zu Audio DL103. I initially mounted it to a Rega clone, NAD branded and it made that turntable sing. Since then , I have mounted two more onto a Dual CS 505-2 (which requires a weight attachment) and on a Dual CS 741Q. The 505-2 sounds great, but the CS 741Q rose to another level entirely. I can’t recommend this cartridge enough. It is true hifi regardless of price.

This cartridge sounds as good or better than many way above it's price point. The sound is full and presents great definition. Solid bass and crisp highs make this a winner. Can honestly say that this cart sounds better than my Ortofon 2M Blue, at 40 dollars less.Great value for the money.

The two top hi-fi stereo references (What Hi Fi, Stereophile) both raved about this cartridge. Internet pundits screamed about how it was just an Audio Technica with a "silly" plastic covering. The company did not hide this fact but stated they took the original and upgraded it. They were right. It sounds fantastic with excellent definition, soundstage, and warmth. It does require a 10-20 hour break-in period but sounds good on day one and keeps getting better.

I purchased the Pro-Ject Sgt. Pepper turntable last year for my office system. Considered the Goldring E3 and the Ortofon Blue to replace the OM10 cart (which is a great cart) that came with the turntable. After reading several positive reviews I decided to buy the BLISS Shibata Stylus (OM40 aftermarket) from Turntable Needles during a sale. Sounded great but suffered from groove noise on certain recordings. I also wasn't always impressed with the detail/separation. After seeing the E3 listed for $100 I decided to give it a try. The E3 at any price is absolutely fantastic cartridge. I owned the Goldring big brother 1042gx which is highly regarded as one of the best MM carts so I had expectations for the E3. As soon as the E3 dropped on St. Vincent's All Born Screaming I heard the detail, separation, detailed bass, warm mids, great highs I should have been enjoying for the past year if I would have bought the E3 instead. Like the other reviews for the E3 I can't not recommend it enough. I'm listening to Sade now - the E3 is indeed a smooth operator.

Solid cartridge. Pretty easy to install. I’m pretty happy with it. I’ll probably look into the rest of the company’s lineup when I upgrade my turntable next.
