If you are a trout fly fisherman then these flies are for you. They are well made and the high-carbon hooks are fantastic. I highly recommend them!

This is a good set for beginners or if you just don't want to or have time to tie your own. Convenient and effective.

These are well made large flys. The eyelets are free of glue, and the constructions seems tight and well done. The hooks are sharp.

I'm not a fly fishing expert. I started fishing specifically for trout a couple of summers ago. I've been using mostly dough bait with "Carolina rig" or spinners and getting pretty good results. I'm not a great fisherman by any means but I enjoy it and of course it's thrilling when you land one.As I've gotten more and more into it I really wanted to try some actual fly fishing. The assortment packs from Perfect Hatch are a great start. Fishing flies of any kind of decent quality tend to be very expensive so being able to get assortment packs from a US based company made from quality materials for the price point that these are offered at the time of this writing is a real nice way to ease into the sport.As to the flies themselves, while I am no expert, I can't find anything wrong with them. They look just like the product photos. They seem well constructed with no loose pieces. The hooks themselves are of good quality and appropriately sized for the size and type of fly to be well hidden (anyone who's fished trout learns quick that they shy away from anything obvious).I've had them out on the water already but no catches with them yet. I don't think this has anything to do with the flies though, I switched between the dough bait, spinners, and these and nothing produced for me that day. I just wasn't where the fish were I guess!

My grandson is learning how to fly fish and this set gave him a nice assortment of standard streamer flies. The flies are tied pretty well, and held up under actual fishing use. Sometimes inexpensive flies come apart easily with heavy use, but these were pretty good. I recently visited a high-end fly shop and was shocked at how much they are going for. This set is pretty reasonable in comparison.There was a bit of glue in the eyeholes, which had to to be removed before the flies could be tied on. That was a bit of a bother, but I just used a hook from another fly to work out the glue and allow the fly to be tied on.
