Bought these for my daughter. She didn’t love the strap. Good thing because it broke after fewer than 5 uses. Other reviews mentioned you can wear these without the strap. She was unable to do so. Bummer!

They would be great however they cracked the first time wearing them for softball.

I could not wear the shin guards - size MEDIUM - because the velcro straps were too short. I have 17" (circumference) calves so when i attached the straps, they actually started to cut off the circulation to my legs. I got cramps 1/2 way thru the softball game. I am only 5' - 9" tallI do like that they are very light.I later bought a LARGE size. the additional 1" in length did not correct the problem. The curvature of the pads were still too narrow for me. I needed up buying some SVX (for lacrosse) pads. Unfortunately they do not come with Velcro straps so I had to add them myself.

Got these after banging my left shin several times cutting wood, and then twice again when my wood splitter 'threw' a piece of hardwood into that same shin - with intense force. Decided it was time to get some protection. got hit again by the splitter after getting/wearing these - Fantastic! Wood hit the protector in the same shin spot that had been hurt before, but absorbed all the impact. I'm a 5'8" 150lb female - medium works perfectly (on over my jeans). I'm really gerald I got them and won't go out and do brushwork or split wood without them.

My daughter uses these for lacrosse. She is a goalie and needs shin guards that allow free movement while actually protecting her shins. We had catcher style guards previously but she could not run in them (she's a mobile goalie) We combined these shin guards with volleyball knee pads and both work like a charm.

Great shin guards, with good ventilation and the additional protection needed for field hockey (compared to soccer shin guards which don’t come up high enough). My daughter has long legs and says they are very comfortable. I would definitely get them again.
