This is the second of this type of laser measuring device I've reviewed. While this one isn't as sleek or "modern" looking as the other one, I find that it works well, is easy to use, and it has clear instructions. The screen is also nice and clear, with nice contrast.I haven't tried the many different functions, but the few I have used (basic measuring, level, and angle) have all been easy to use and accurate. Of the three I've tried, the level (x,y) has been the most helpful. I've actually used it balanced on the back of a drill to ensure that I'm staying level to my work surface as I drill a hole. I do wish that the level had a way to zero it, but I haven't found a way to do that so far. However being able to zero the level isn't an advertised feature, so I can't complain about its absence. All in all, I'm very happy with this laser level. It comes with a little pouch that is handy for storing so it's kept safe when I throw it into my tool bag.Five out of five stars.

At first I wasn’t sure I needed a laser measure. I mean, I have a tape measure. But then I thought, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. I am so glad I did.Turns out a laser measure isn’t just an expensive novelty. Nor is it only for the professional builder. The day it arrived at my door, I put it to immediate use finding the perfect spot for hanging a picture on my office wall. Omg was it ever useful! Instead of fighting to span the wall with a continually sagging and buckling tape measure—no one was around to hold up the other end—I pressed a button on the laser measure. That gave me the precise width of the wall. Then I used the laser measure to find the halfway mark. And, voilà, the picture is perfectly centered.More and more home uses are springing to mind. So, yes, it’s a fun toy, but it’s also a useful one.

This is definitely my new favorite tool! I have used it again and again and again and the battery keeps on lasting! The measurements are exact and the lasers easy to see. There are so many different features and I keep learning about them! It's fun to know more and more different features of this and it is so easy to use. Once I learned all the details and features I keep it on me when working a project. After two full days of using it, it's still got great battery life.

In both my professional work as a radio electronics engineer and my personal pursuits as a woodworker, accurate measurements are indispensable. Whether I’m deploying antennas in remote locations, estimating shelving for a closet, or helping my wife, a high-end interior designer, measure spaces for her projects, having a dependable measuring tool is critical. I evaluated the SG SURGOAL Laser Measure against three key criteria - accuracy, ease of use, and portability - and here’s how it performed.AccuracyFor accuracy, I conducted two tests:Short-distance measurement (11"): I used the laser to measure the "Y" dimension of my engineering notebook, a simple task for any measurement tool. While the SG SURGOAL ultimately got the job done, I noticed an inconsistency in the readings, a sort of "jitter" where the results fluctuated slightly instead of delivering the expected, consistent 11 inches. While workable, this lack of reliability at close range means it’s not the first tool I’d grab for short distances.Long-distance measurement (22'): This test involved measuring a known room segment, and I’m happy to report the SG SURGOAL excelled here. The measurements were consistent and accurate, making it a strong performer for tasks that require covering ground.Net-net: The device is better suited for mid-to-long range measurements, where its accuracy shines. For shorter distances, I’ll stick with a good ol’ tape measure.Ease of Use:This is where the SG SURGOAL Laser Measure starts to stand out. The interface is intuitive, with clear indicators for the current measurement mode. Features like the Pythagorean mode are thoughtfully implemented, walking you through the steps to get accurate results. It’s simple and effective, even for more complex calculations. However, the true highlight is the green laser beam. As someone with partial red/green colorblindness—where red is harder for me to see—the green laser is a game-changer. It’s highly visible in both workshop and field settings, solving a fundamental problem I’ve had with red-laser devices. As the saying goes, “If you can’t see it, you can’t measure it,” and this laser ensures I can measure wherever the job takes me.Compared to some pricier red-laser tools I own, this green laser means I can work independently in the field, without relying on others to spot the beam for me. That’s a major win.Portability:Portability earns a perfect 5/5. The device is compact and lightweight, easily fitting into a pocket or attaching to your belt with the included case. But portability isn’t just about size—it’s also about practicality. The USB-C rechargeable battery is a thoughtful touch, ensuring you can keep it powered up with the same cable you’d use for other modern devices. Whether I’m in the workshop or a remote field location, this tool is ready to go.Conclusion:This product is a keeper. While I’ll still rely on a tape measure for shorter distances, anything beyond arm’s reach will be measured with this laser. It’s portable, intuitive, and performs well where it counts. The green laser alone makes it worth having in my toolbox, and its versatility seals the deal. With a bit of improvement in short-distance accuracy, this could be a 5-star tool. For now, it’s a solid 4 stars and one I’ll use regularly. If you need a dependable, easy-to-use measuring tool for longer distances, I’d recommend giving this one a try.Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

The Laser Measurer is accurate for Long Distance and is great because it is rechargeable. It performs well against higher priced Laser Measurers.

First laser only stays on 30 seconds , the 120 seconds mentioned in the description is power off.The real bad thing about this laser measurement device is that it can only be used lying flat. Sides are not square and it will not stand up straight wobbling back and forth.returning,
