Lasted a little over two years and the motor smoked. Now it’s dead. One would have thought it would’ve lasted longer considering the price. A trimmer with an ICE would have lasted much longer.Spoke with product support from greenworks, very pleasant and professional.The trimmer is being warranted, will be getting a NEW one from them at no cost!

My gas trimmer died. I was tired of spark plugs and carburetors. I have a gas mower, gas trimmer, a walk behind trimmer, and I’m just tired of them. This item doesn’t last as long as I’d like but it works amazingly. Took the guard off, extended the string, and it’s magic. Works better without guard and long string. I wear big rubber boots and overall cover with goggles. Weeds start flying and it can hurt. My neighbor paid $700 to clear her yard, I’m going to buy another battery. Definitely need one to use while the other charges. Going to purchase the greenworks 18 inch saw see if that’s as good as this.

Works really well. Agree with another reviewer that it is a bit heavy but so glad to have the power without the gas and pull cord start of our previous one.

I had attachments from a craftsman weed whacker that include a roto tiller and hedger. The tiller worked better than expected. Weight is lighter than the 4 cycle junk craftsman too. Weed whacker works great too. Nice not to have to mess with gas and fickle starting. I was skeptical, but I'm sold on it now for my needs, which is maintaining a small property with light gardening.

Trimmer works great. The tool has two speeds ( low and high), and enough power that I haven't needed the high speed setting. Tool compatibility function works as advertised. My edger attachment from an earlier Ryobi tool works great with this tool. Battery durability is also very good. I can do all trimming, and edging as well as swap the battery to my greenworks hedge trimmer complete that too. And all on a single charge with plenty of battery time remaining.Can't really tell much of a weight difference from my gas trimmer but I Do enjoy the lower noise level and no heat from a gas engine.
