This thing is a beast when it comes to weed eating! Very powerful! Fast and easy. The 2 strings instead of 1 is a plus. Don't hesitate to buy this weed whacker. It cut thru very tall thick Bermuda grass with a breeze. The bump on the ground to let out more strong works flawless

The weed-eater has an antiquated feed system. I haven't encountered one like this since I was a young lad.The blower gave out after about 3 total service hours. This includes clearing the driveway, sidewalk, and public parking during the warmer months, where it did performed admirably, with one or two instances of overheating. However, when I called the blower into service during the first real snowfall in 4 years, it quit just when I needed it most. I was keeping up on the precipitation every 30 minutes, and it was cold (duh), when the trigger quit. As I was slowly snowed in, I called the customer service number. Skil did send me a replacement blower after some questions; why wouldn't they? It's a $20 plastic trinket the money is in the battery. But you can't register a returned tool on the website what a fix. Hope my replacement lasts the winter and I don't break my neck on the still-glazed sidewalk.Go with a professional brand; Skil makes toys for old men in retirement communities. And if you own this and it snows, invest in salt or maybe a non-Skil snowblower.DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I don't write a lot of reviews but I felt I had to for these products. I just received them today and gave them their first try. To say these performed flawlessly would be an understatement. The trimer is wicked fast and is very comfortable for me being 6'. No hunching at all and no back strain whatsoever. The blower is super powerful, especially in turbo mode. I used my big fat battery from my Skil mower, which I was pleased to see is compatible with both the trimmer and blower. I'll never run out of power with both of these batteries at my disposal. My only minor complaint is the Allen key that came with it was horrible and kept slipping off the screw head. It is not a true Allen but a 6-point which I believe is a Torx head. Use a better one if you can as I almost stripped the head and they are very tight and hard to turn. Other than that I am overjoyed with my purchase. No more gas-powered issues after sitting over the Winter and not starting and having to take them to a small-engine mechanic to get them going again. I am too old and don't have the patience for that anymore. Don't give these a second thought and hit the buy button right now. Oh, one other thing. I got the optional round blower nozzle for $8.99 and it makes a big difference, so add that to your cart as well.

I decided to try a battery operated lawn products. I have 1 ½ acres and I know the battery won't last that long. I was impressed in the power of the trimmer and blower. The trimmer matched my 2 cycle gas in performance perfectly. I was able to trim the front of thechouse no issues. The blower works great but is not as powerful as my gas unit. The blower is great for quick jobs, no need to get gas, , prime, start, and go. The battery, just push the button and go. Both products are great performing and the battery lasts long enough to do most of the work for my acreage. It would work perfectly for someone with a standard size lot. Both products are quality built with no issues or detects. They are lightweight and easy to carry around compared to gas. So far I like it but will update if any issues arise.

Waited until I had used it a few times before offering a review.Got tired of moving the cord around on my corded string trimmer and didn't want the extra maintenance of a gas trimmer, so I gave this SKIL PWR CORE 40 trimmer a try. My yard isn't very large --maybe an area of 50 yards--and this trimmer was rated for working that area. For the price point and function, I am impressed in its operation. Delivered with battery half charged, I was able to complete trimming grass around rocks and trees in the yard as well as along the fencing with that partial charge. Liked that I could trim and keep moving with without wrestling with a power cord, finishing the entire trim job in fifteen minutes. Bump feed works as promised. This unit does not eat up string like other trimmers I had. From a half charge the battery takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to fully replenish. On a full charge, it works just as easy. I haven't had to load string yet, but that process looks simple enough.Recommend wiping the head down after each use to prevent clippings from building up. If you have a small to medium size yard, this SKIL unit may be useful. Now, I trim every time I mow instead of three/ four times a season. Very convenient.
