I recently got a weber grill that did not come with a thermometer. I hastily ordered this one with plans to drill a hole in the BBQ lid and insert the probe through the hole and leave the gauge on the outside. After talking with my spouse and a couple friends, I have been dissuaded from drilling into the BBQ lid. I have stuck the tip through the vent hole to record the temperature and it seems to work well. If I can find another lid(cheaply) I will drill this into it and see how well it works. Currently, I am not willing to potentially compromise my new BBQ so I did not drill it into the lid as I had originally planned. Still, it is a nice thermometer and it seems to be accurate(I tested it in boiling water and it went to just above 210 and stayed there.

High-quality, easy to install, and fits perfectly on a 10-year-old Weber Genesis grill. Easy to read!

The thermometer on my Charbroil grill was getting sticky, where I had to give it a tap to get it to unstick and start working. This one installed in just a minute or two and fit the opening of the grill no problem. One thing to be aware of is that the shaft and probe are longer than the original. You can see in the photos, the original thermometer sitting on the grill, is relatively short. By comparison, the replacement has a longer threaded shaft and probe - I suspect this is so that it will fit a wide variety of grills that have lids of various thicknesses. In any case, the longer length should make no difference to it's accuracy - it works fine and the temperature seems accurate and consistent with what I saw on the original thermometer. It looks good on the grill, like it came that way.

Seems to work perfectly. When it arrived I put it in boiling water and the temperature indicated as close to 212F s it was possible to read on the dial. I removed the old unit from my Weber and put this inIt has a butterfly nut which makes for easy installation. It fitted the old hole I had for the unit it was replacing and tightened up nicely. It seems accurate and hopefully it will last !

I was curious if my Camp Chef pellet grill interior temp was accurate. I have the ambient probe that displays on the control panel, and I know it seems to struggle some days with getting up to and holding temp, so I wanted to know if this was accurate. I drilled a hole big enough for the threads on the right side of the box, near the top. After inserting the probe, screwing on the support nut inside, I was up and going in 5 minutes flat. I loaded up the hopper and got started on a Prime Rib for New Years. I watched the built-in probe and the Alloxity temp gauge rise within a couple degrees F fluctuation all the way to 225 where it kept up with the Camp Chef temp within 1 degree. When I raised the temp to 250 and 275, it was accurate within 1 degree of my built-in probe. I took a small portable oven temp gauge and placed it inside the cabin and checked temp against this thermometer and the built-in one, and they were all within one degree Fahrenheit the whole time. Passed with flying colors, I'd say. I highly recommend this as a replacement or addition to a smoker of any type. Great deal!

Definitely reads 20 to 50 degrees low.
