I live in a mountain region so snow and ice are just part of it. The four steps from my driveway to my porch get beyond slick. Salting works but makes a huge mess. Only takes a second after going from these things to bare wood to realize they work greag. .. Only potential issue I see is you don’t want to get to aggressive with a snow shovel… Ordering two more packs.

We installed the treads on a deck ramp. We live in Michigan and the ramp gets dangerously slick in the winter. The treads are working well and have not become brittle in zero conditions.

After nearly falling several times on the wooden steps from my deck to my patio, I decided to add stair treads. These are perfect for that purpose, to prevent me from slipping as I go up or down. I especially like that these screw on, so they will remain securely attached in any weather, and should last many years. It did take a few days for my dog to figure out how to go up and down without walking on them because he doesn’t like stepping on the sharp points. These would also be extremely uncomfortable for people walking barefoot, so that is something to consider if you live in a climate where that is likely to occur.

What was suppose to take 10 days for delivery arrived 2 days after ordering via Canpar Deliveries right from the manufacture, thank you. I installed these strips shortly after receiving them and they work great on my wheelchair ramp, very easy to install, and they look good too.

I have had these sitting in my cart for over a year now but did not want to justify the price. Originally I was going to get black but found out my dog suddenly went blind in one eye and ordered yellow instead to help him see it. Unfortunately he went blind in the other eye before these arrived so now its a bit of an eye sore against my newly stained deck. However, they work GREAT! The texture has even helped my dog find the stairs and give him a good grip in this winter weather we are having in northern BC.I ordered two packs of 8 but have only installed 5 so far (of the 16), I am wanting to see if they crack when someone (someone = my dad) steps on them in -20 with his cleats. I expect they would split so am aware of this as they are quite a thin plastic, so am glad I ordered more. I have a couple of other areas to install the rest but will keep a few extra in case I need to replace the ones on the front steps.I did sand them down a bit with 120 grit sand paper to make sure they don't hurt my pup's paws - made sure I could put all my weight on them with bare feet before installing them.If you worry about slipping in the winter when things are icy, I 100% recommend you bite the bullet and purchase these. Safety is no joke!

As a person who over-thinks every project, these were purchased to accomplish several goals: They had to be practical for Maine's snow and ice. They had to be durable with no chipping or cracking throughout heavy family use. They had to be trip-free, with a surface that was level with our porch carpet and a texture that would keep everyone from slipping while not grabbing shoe soles to create a different falling risk. We are now in our second winter, and they turned out to be perfect on every front. They don't ice up, they don't trip people, and they create an excellent non-slip edge for rain, snow, and ice. Choose these. You won't regret it.

Reason for purchase:I built a deck and used fibreglass stair treads that were supposed to have a grip. They didn’t so I got the gator grip tape and that peeled within the first week so then I purchased these. They certainly have a good grip to them the only couple complaints are:The screws rust I only had them on for one winter and already screws are pooched. The install says no adhesive but with their instructions of loosening the screw 1/4 turn to allow for expansion and contraction… I live in a northern climate and these things lifted off of the tread and even though they still work; 1 they look bad and 2 they make a clicking sound when you step on them. For that reason I would recommend using a silicone or other that will help hold them down but also be easy to remove if needed.

Easy to install, and already very effective against slipping in the rain, on my ancient wooden steps which get extremely ‘greasy’ when wet. I will try to update how they do through the ice and snow. Very happy with these, so far! Would like it if screws were a bit longer but they seem quite stable so far.

Updated review after about a year of use: these are still holding up so very well! Nothing is showing bad wear, and they aren’t coming loose. They still look good. So happy with this purchase and they haven’t disappointed me!——-—-These Grip Strip treads are a hard plastic-like material, so don’t expect soft rubber material. They have nubbly bumps all over them that will help secure your footing—if you walk on them barefoot, it’s going to be a bit uncomfortable as they are a little sharp but when I put on my thinner flip-flops and tried them out, I didn’t feel a thing. My outdoor steps become super slippery and I’ve slipped on them twice in the last year and hurt myself, but when I tried adhesive strips that cost less, they peeled off rather quickly in our mountain weather of snow, ice, cold, warm, rain, and for me, a lot of trees and shade and droppings from trees. I did a lot of research and looking around for something better and these Grip Strips seem to be the answer. They aren’t cheap—for the size I received, they are about $54 for 8 of them, but worth every penny if they stop me from slipping on very slippery stairs, or someone else from doing so! And so far, so good.I put down two for each stair, just to be sure. They were very easy to install—went quite fast actually. They supply the screws. Just screw them in, then loosen the screws a little bit, and you are done. The tools we used are: hammer, Phillips head screw driver. That’s it.They look better installed than I thought, but had they been ugly I woudln't care—no more slipping and dang near breaking a leg or arm. My stairs don’t receive much sun at all, and they can become treacherous when it rains a lot. But, I’m also curious to see how they’ll do in ice/snow and I have confidence they’ll do great. It cost me $200 to do all the stairs, with two on each stair, but I think it’s worth it. There simply aren’t that many options out there for stair tread safety that are not adhesive, so I’m happy to have found these screw down treads.

Just received my treads. I bought them for a ramp leading into my tool shed. Pros: Shipping was fast arrived a day earlier than even expected. Install could not have been easier took about ten minutes to install 10 treads.Cons: I was really hoping at this price point that these would have been perhaps a more rubberized material. Treads are manufactured from what feels like super thin cheap plastic. I don’t see these lasting to long especially after we get good and cold here in Ohio. Tread teeth are very short to me the pictures made the tread look more aggressive.I’m hoping I’m wrong and these last for years at $80 shipped for 10 pieces of plastic... But not holding my breath.
