This is a good product…it really dampens the noise of a gutter…but…MAKE SURE THAT YOU ORDER THE RIGHT SIZE! Also, after I installed the product, I had trouble re-fitting the downspout back together. It’s not a perfect fit anymore. If you don’t bend it over, it will wash out. If you do bend it over, it changes the way the 2-parts fit together. Take your time. The peace and quiet are worth the effort.

Had an annoying drip into an elbow right above my deck. The elbow is an A to B, so I had to trim down the sides on the top forth of the dampener to fit the narrow width. It was easy to trim with a cuts-all scissors, and work beautifully. As stated in the first sentence, HAD an annoying drip... no more!!

Don't waste your money! Bought these just a few months ago, had them installed and now having them removed. They twisted in the gutter thus blocking the water in the gutter from flowing - instead it was overflowing the side like a waterfall.

This product works well, but it may be tricky to install. I had to remove the entire downspout from my gutter to get enough leverage to pull the lower elbow off. Once I did this, sliding the downspout silencer into position was the easy part, but putting the downspout back together was more difficult. My downspout is old and made with thin, easily pliable sheet metal. It took some delicate hammering to get the elbow back into position without causing too much damage to the downspout itself.I'm happy with the result. I used to hear a constant low-intensity drilling sound from the water hitting the bottom elbow of my downspout, which was particularly annoying when I'm trying to sleep. Now, the noise is drastically reduced and easily drowned out by the sound of rainfall. From my search, there aren't many options for this type of product. If you're willing to put in a little extra effort, I think this is well worth the spend.

Big improvement! My downspout is right next to my bedroom and the drips on a rainy can get quite distracting especially at night, this damper greatly reduced the noise.

My neighbor suggested this product after I told him I gutter was driving me insane by dripping… After a rain it would drip for hours drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip drip… enough to drive you crazy if you’re trying to sit and read a book. One night the first time it rained in a long time it actually woke me up!So he cut open my gutter and inserted one of these and then re-sealed it.These are old gutters from the 70s and we live in a condominium development so sometimes you have to just just work on things yourself to get things done. They used to design gutters very skinny and squared off. He had to do a little bit of trimming and make the piece skinnier but you can cut them to fit your problem. Now I do not hear the dripping… In the front of the house or the back.Serves the purpose!

After I had gutters replaced, the drips echoing in my new larger downspouts was driving me mad. I was doubtful that these drip silencers would do much, but if they at least muffled the sound a bit, it would be something. But they did more than muffle---they entirely eliminated the sound. Worked better than I ever expected!
