We had wire mesh over the ends of our downspouts to keep critters out. This was a pain because leaves and other debris had to be routinely cleaned out. This product allows debris to pass right through during rain and shuts flush to prevent critter intrusion at all other times. Comes with no instructions, just the gate itself and two self tapping screws. Not being rude, but if you can't figure it out, you should probably hire a handyman to install it. But if you're handy at all, it's simple, you just need to ensure a little clearance between the end of the spout and your splash block since this will elongate the spout once installed.

I bought four of these to protect and provide a nice and finished look for my gutters and they did exactly that. I bought 3 of the horizontal Type A and one of the vertical Type B for the four gutter downspouts on our house. Not only are they easy to install, but they're sturdy, durable, and look great rather than the raw cut gutter downspout.If you want a simple and easy way to avoid rodents and pests in your gutters, I would definitely recommend this product.

So, we have every critter under the sun going up our downspouts. My husband pushed these ends on (you need a bit of strength and don't need to use the supplied screws, nice tight fit) and our problem moved on! Not sure where the critters are going to move on to, we'll see. It has rained a few days and the water is passing through fine. No issues there, actually a nice bonus that the mulch won't get washed out now. White isn't bright white, I was worried when I opened the box. But it was an exact match! Didn't realize how unfinished the downspouts looked until we added these on them. Nice look. Highly recommend.

This durable and well-designed GutterGate flapper endpiece works really well. I've had these for at least a year by now and they keep leaves and other debris out of the downspout. They allow the water to exit the downspout, while preventing all foreign matter from coming in.

Had a freeloader living in the attic...dropping their nuts all hours of the night. Scurrying around doing dance moves, keeping us awake. Not even paying rent or picking up after themselves. This had been going on for over 4 winters now. Well, the free ride is over Alvin.... bought two of these and installed them in minutes. Haven't heard Alvin now in weeks. Sorry pal, find a new place to hide your nuts.

Good product as advertised, almost bulletproof. However, needs careful planning of the downspout angle, as the hatch could be too heavy for a weaker water flow. Note: I have not finished installing it yet for this very reason.
