It installed no problem, and did away with a lot of spring clatter on my Stratocaster.

Who needs a back plate when your 13 year old self customized PRS USA Strat Style guitar looks this good on the inside. The massive brass Spring Claw helps dampen spring vibration. (Don't forget the styrofoam!) Brass springs look good and work well, but they sing into your pickups if you don't take preventive measures! This works! This product is top quality!

These work great, the ground set screw needs a little debur, and I wouldn’t used the supplied screws. But they definitely make it look better and functions as it should. I’ve bought two for a couple strats.

You may think I’m deluded, but I can definitely hear an improvement in tone! Mine’s fitted to a Floyd Rose equipped Les Paul and the sustain is better and the tone is more vibrant with more zing and top end. Highly recommended, especially at this price.

This is very much worth the few extra dollars. Not so much because of sustain or resonance or tone, those will be completely subjective and explicitly to each person’s set-up and style and EQ. Because it has the potential to and there is a definite difference in feel both mentally and physically, the added few ounces are probably not noticeable to many, but the substantially thicker and solid brass design is. The grounding screw as opposed to soldering is bonus, great idea! It’s not enough of a cost more than your current lesser quality stock claw to question it just for the possibility that it may improve those things. Do it! Then judge for yourself.

If you have a cheap pot metal claw, upgrade it. Because if you ever need to tighten the spring screws those flimsy claws will bend and throw your whole guitar out of whack, and you'll be scratching your head wondering why it won't stay in tune. Best part about this claw, the screw for the ground wire; no soldering needed. Which was perfect for me because I burn myself every time I try to solder lol.

I replaced my stock cheap (aluminum?) Ibanez claw with this one. I also replaced the springs with this same brand and I feel like it really solidified my tuning stability. For anyone that doesn't know, you need consistency between string and spring tension on guitars equipped with a tremolo. "Consistency" is the important word here. Any "give" or "play" in the metal alloy of your claw will reduce tuning stability. You can experience this for yourself by simply pressing on the bridge while connected to a tuner and watch to see if it returns back to zero, aka whatever your open tuning is. Stiffening the claw enhances stability and this claw does that. I was a little worried about the contact points where each spring loops onto because this one is several times thicker but that wasn't an issue at all. The stock screws introduced a slight issue though because since this claw is so much more rigid and thicker, I'm sure you can imagine how tightening one screw will make the other need to be tightened too. You can only tighten one maybe 3-5 full revolutions before you feel resistance and then you have to tighten the other. The original claw was so thin that you could tighten one screw to a point where the claw would be angled 45°. That is not possible with this one and that's a good thing. I definitely recommend this if you've got one of those cheesy thin-stamped claws like I had. Make no mistake, this product is inexpensive, not cheap. I'll probably outfit my other two guitars with this after this experience.

This is the second of these that have been purchased - and depending on what custom guitars are built in the future, there will likely be more. Sturdy, brass and no need for soldering (if that's your preference) - a nice touch to a custom build.
