This is the right part, but every time I change my tip (granted I'll do it every few months and I solder almost every day) I find that it's fused inside this barrel and I need to buy a new one of these too. Turns a $9 tip change into a $19 tip change.

Direct ferrule replacement for Hakko 936 soldering iron. Fit and finish is good... Now to see how long it lasts.The original is almost 19 years old. I saved it in case the new one fails.

It will work when doing my jewelry stuff, etc. Was actuqally seeking a cover having air holes near the base but that is another unit where it is used with higher temps
