So yeah, when first received it does not look like a chisel tip. I suspect this is due to a thin coating of solder. Once heated wiped, you will say "wow that's a small chisel". The cheap knockoffs do not even compare to original Hakko tips.

Were any of you able to receive the correct tip? I purchased a station along with 5 tips. I had the same experience with the T18-D08.My tip is clearly marked T18-D08 but is see no chisel except for what might be a flat that does no extend to the end. There is a set of 5 tips offered on Amazon that has a very clear picture of the tips. You can clearly see the D08 marking on the tip but it looks wrong to me. The manufactures web page goes to great lengths to spell out the advantages of a chisel tip. I am retired after 40+ yearsof electronics and hold a micro soldering certification from the Navy. Good soldering is having the best and correct tip. After measuring a T18-D16 chisel tip I think I see whats going on. The T18-D08 manufactures spec is .8mm X .6mm. So after plating and tinning with solder presto its round for all practical purposes. I would guess it might last longer but you sure don't have the advantages of a squared off(in both planes)tip.:(

Computerthis is a soldering iron tip, it `fits is tight places, they come in many sizes, So they will handle components from smt to large components. It gets hot so do not touch the hot end.If you do not take care of it it will oxidize and burn out.Dear computer.every revue takes time, no matter what I say I can not help people buy a product like this. The soldering station and de soldering iron are excellent, BUY THEM.

温調半田小手は,数10秒で温まるので重宝していますが,このドライバー型0.8mmは,あまり用途がありません。SOPでも使いづらく感じました。標準で温調半田小手に付いてくる円錐家と大差ありませんでした。

This is a good tip to run on your Hakko FX-88x series soldering iron. I think it's at least worth mentioning to those who might not know, tips with a less sharp tip on it can be easier to work with when soldering. Other than that, this is a good purchase. I also recommend purchasing with this, some "tip tinner". If you keep your tip clean and well tinned, you won't be replacing it very often at all.

A screwdriver/chisel tip is just right for printed circuit work as well as general wiring, and 0.8mm is the right size. The photograph is wrong, however. It shows a conical tip.
