Our cutlery is made from top-quality German X50CrMoV15 high carbon stainless steel. It is forged and tempered to precise specifications and a Rockwell hardness of 55 - 57 that provides a superior edge and lasting durability.

This knife has good steel Quality & sharp. But i have some issue. This knife is little heavy, but has small handle. In my opinion, this knife didn’t have Good enough balanced. My hand feel stressed. So if they make a bigger handle, it would be perfect.

There are so many great things to say about the Hammer Stahl brand and craftsmanship... Wow! I was proud to gift this exceptional cutlery along with the matching carving set to my beau for Christmas. This gift has sparked and inspired the beginning of a new collection. One that will last over the years to come.On a side-note, I first noticed the incredible, well balanced instrument(s). It is flawless! Remarkable!Secondly, meagrely to say, the rivets (although are of great quality) don't feel flush with the rest of the handle creating a slight edge where it should be smooth. It may be part of the, "craft signature?" Or, perhaps the rivets can be rounded off slightly more when being set into place? Maybe sealed with a resin of sorts to fill the tiny gap to complete the smoothness as one? I'll leave it to the masters to decide... Other than this small detail I'm very pleased with the quality and happy with my purchase.

This is one fine knife! Long, sleek, SHARP and 'sexy'. Carving rib roasts and brisket has never been so easy. It slices instead of tearing. Yes, expensive, but worth it. Take good care of this one and it will be with you for life.

Knife is balanced well and easy for hands to hold. Cuts well. My only negative on this purchase was in the shipping. The box came crushed and so was the case the knife came in. Thought about returning/exchanging it. Decided to keep it because the knife was fine with no defects. Would have liked to have a proper case for it though.
