Difficult to use. Weak laser image. Only works in small rooms or spaces. Not practical.

If you're looking for a laser level, this one can work for you only if you fall into a certain category. And by that, I mean if you're looking to do little projects in remodeling your home. So if you need to hang something, maybe add a floating wall shelf, it will serve it's purpose. It was fairly easy to use when installing new floating shelves in our home. Now, let me explain who this level isn't for....This level isn't really something a contractor would use. So if you're in the actual business of construction, professional remodeling, there are better options out there (for more money). Using it outside in sunlight is challenging. For that need, I'd go with one of my green laser levels. As you get at least four times the visibility with a green laser than a red one. So it's a decent laser level, but it's something I'd use strictly indoors, for basic needs. If you need something for commercial purchase, you'll probably have to drop two or three times as much on a quality green laser level.

I'm sort-of underwhelmed by this tool. I like the auto-leveling function. As long as you start out within 4 degrees of level, it will self-level in a few seconds and the lines stabilize. The internal mechanism is weighted and swings around like a plumb bob until it finds level. I checked the accuracy with a bubble level and it seems OK. It's a nice design and seems to work well. I'm not sure why anyone would use the other fixed option. Not sure what purpose that would serve.I mounted it on a tripod and used it to help hang and level a picture (see photos). This worked OK. But the laser lines are hard to see. I had to turn the lights off in the room to see a bright image of the lines. In my well-lit garage shop, it's very difficult to see even when the unit is positioned just 3 feet from the wall. I wish it was brighter. Also, even on the tripod at full extension, I could not get the laser line as high as I wanted to mount the picture. I ended up setting it on a bed, which was not a very stable platform. But that was the only way I could figure out to project the lines to the height I wanted. I wish there was a way to change the height of the lines without physically moving the tool. The folding legs are a nice feature when not using a tripod. The round base is OK, but I'm not really sure what purpose it serves other than attaching to a tripod. The case is nice, but there's no place to store the round base.Build quality is so-so. The parts seem to be made from cheap, lightweight plastic. I also wonder about the durability of the internal mechanism, which swings around banging into the housing. I just don't get a warm-fuzzy feeling that this tool is going to last very long.Overall... just underwhelmed. Auto level works well. But laser is too dim. Build quality is suspect. Height adjustments are difficult. In the end, this seems like more of a novelty than a fundamental improvement over a simple bubble level.

This thing is great. It's a level that uses two separate lasers that form a cross line to help you both vertically and horizontally. It's self-leveling as well; the lasers completely disappear if the device isn't level within 4 degrees. It also has a built in legs that pop out so you can place it basically anywhere, as well as an additional base that has a tripod mount for you to use with different accessories. It's powered by a AA battery (which is included) and even comes with a handy pouch to store it in that you can clip to your belt. The pouch even has a slot to hold the battery, but it doesn't hold the base/tripod stand which is a little inconvenient. The device works very well. I tested it with various items around the house and measured against a bubble level and found it to be very accurate. I used it over the weekend to hang up a series of pictures and the long level came in handy to make sure everything was aligned and made the whole process a lot easier. The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't allow for any adjustments to height. Basically, you'll need to use a tripod or something to move the level up and down. Luckily, we have a tripod stand that wasn't an issue, but just keep that in mind when you purchase this.Overall, I love this thing. Although I've only used it once so far, it's already proven to be very useful. Highly recommended.

This little device makes it very easy to project lines on your walls to make it easy to hang pictures, hang wallpaper, line up tiles, etc. It's got some very nice features on it and can be used on a tripod or sitting on a ledge, floor, or table. It's convenient and handy to have around the house. However:It's not bright enough to use outside in sunlightIf you are using it in a house with high ceilings, you need a tripod or lightstand that will raise it up higherThe legs are a little flimsy so I am not sure it'll hold up to commercial/pro useFor the price it's not a bad little tool to have on hand for household tasks.
