Handheld Seed Spreader with 25lb BagThis spreader required a small amount of assembly including installing a couple cotter pins and a screw, nothing hard at all. The bag is made of a thicker material, and I do not see any issues with it wearing out anytime soon. The other parts are plastic, but not cheap feeling plastic. It has an adjustment lever to allow for various seeding/fertilization rates, which a chart is included for. It says you can change the spread width by “changing the crank rate” which makes me think if you crank it faster/slower that will alter the spread width, but I dont know. One thing I did notice is that inside the bag, there is a recess where it attaches to the base, which will allow some product to accumulate, and not be dispensed, something to keep in mind.

I was really a bit disappointed in this spreader until I actually got to the point of using it. Assembly instructions were sparse on details, so we ended up having to dis/re assemble several times in a couple spots before getting it right. Once assembled, it was difficult to figure out how to "wear" the spreader for use-- the strap direction and ergonomic design of the holder helped. At this point, I wondered if I was going to need to hand spread grass seed over an acre........ when I loaded the spreader, I failed to close the hopper and spilled a bunch of my grass seed on the ground-- later figuring out what I hadn't done right (better instructions would've been great). When I finally got the thing out onto pasture, and started cranking, within about 30 seconds I'd found my optimal setting and got really nice performance out of it. I was able to seed about a half acre in about 15 minutes, with only about 8-10 passes.A little wonky, but functional!

This was a game changer spreading seed this year!It hangs comfortably on my shoulder, even at holding a full 25lb bag of seed.A couple of things were a little off.The screw to install the rear baffle was nowhere to be found. Not a big deal, but would've thought it should've come with one already. The only other negative thing about it was that from a cold turn of the handle the plastic gears from the handle to the fan blade 'pop' every so often. With a light seed it's not that bad or noticeable. But with a heavier seed/grain it's very noticeable.Bag cleans out nicely.Functions really well outside of the gear popping. It seems to be built really well and durable with again, the exception of the crank to fan blade gear.

This Handheld Seed Spreader is a great tool for making seeding quicker and more efficient. It does require some assembly, but thankfully, everything needed is included, and the process is fairly simple. Once put together, it’s easy to use, and the bag is made of durable material that holds up well. The adjustment lever is a nice feature, allowing for different seeding rates depending on the type of seed being spread. Whether you’re planting grass seed, fertilizer, or other small granules, this tool helps distribute them evenly with minimal effort. One minor drawback is that the spreader does retain some seed, meaning you may have to shake or adjust it to get everything out. While this isn’t a major issue, it does require a little extra attention to ensure all the seed is dispensed. Despite this, the spreader still performs well overall. The design makes it comfortable to carry, and it saves a lot of time compared to hand-seeding. It’s especially useful for small to medium-sized areas where a larger spreader might be unnecessary. This is a great tool for anyone looking to make seeding easier and more efficient. While it’s not perfect, it does a good job and is well worth the price. If you don’t mind a bit of occasional adjusting, it’s a reliable and convenient way to spread seed evenly. I’d definitely recommend it for home gardeners and lawn care enthusiasts!

I was expecting more. The bag is ok and so is the strap. However, the actual spreader wheel does not sit tight on the sprocket. It is only held on with a pin and it wobbles. Turning the handle with it empty was rough so I can only imagine what it would be like with a full bag of seed. The handle was scuffed up because it was loose in the zip loc baggie with the two pins and the one screw that holds the baffle on. The plastic base that holds it all together has some marring in it as well. Will this last long? Doubt it. But I guess time will tell.

I'll start by saying that I wouldn't recommend this product. I don't need to put grass seed down often...this was probably the third or fourth time in 35 years I've done it, but I'm used to the handheld spreaders that you just dump some seed into, set the volume and off you go. This spreader is just not ergonomic, awkward to use, and didn't work well. To start, the instructions for assembly are useless. Once you get it together, you'll notice it quite large and bulky. Upon starting to use it, I immediately had issues- jams and gears not working working properly. With just under an acre to seed, I ended up running and getting a normal spreader and used that. I liked the idea of this, but it's just poorly designed and doesn't function well.
