My husband said he was surprised just how good it works. He is happy with it.

This Forstner bit did not meet my needs, as the holes I need to drill were not exactly 2 and 7/8 inches in diameter; the holes I need to drill are measured accurately in metric units, and are not precisely the diameter of this drill. I failed to measure the hole accurately when ordering this drill. When it arrived, it was obvious there was a slight but significant discrepancy between drill and the necessary diameter hole.Hence, while I returned this drill bit, I found nothing wrong with it, and would recommend this brand to a fellow wood worker.

The bit diameter is 2 7/16 not 2 1/2. After my review, the seller reached out and offered a refund for the item. I accepted. It was refreshing to see that level of customer service.

the center spur is to short to hold it in place to keep it from walking while attempting to drill a hole. guess it would be fine used in a stationary drill press.

In spite of plunging the bit very slowly into the hardwood work piece and running the drill press at minimum speed it cut the hole but left a very rough surface.
