If you're familiar with cast iron, the surface texture doesn't matter. After w two seasonings, nothing stuck to the pans.

This pan is good in size but the surface is very rough. Had to season it 3 times before it was adequate for use. Value is okay esp with two in the order.

These are obviously cheaply made cast Iron. Pans are rough from the casting sand being course and the metal isnt very thick for cast iron.BUT...With some extra work, you can have some decent set of pans. Which is half the reason I picked these pans. Also a little bit thicker pans would be nice. but for this application you don't want them too thick.I striped off the factory coat with oven cleaner/ degreaser. Then I got some 220 grit sand paper put on a show and watched a few episodes. I sanded it down til It was some what smoother. Then I did the second pan less smooth. to see if it makes much of a difference. My arms were also starting to get tired. Basically got the worst spots.I currently have the pans in the oven coated with a light wash of grape seed oil at 450f. for an hour then let it cool and repeat. I will do this about 3-4 times.Lastly I cook with mostly cast iron and you can wash cast iron with soap and water. And I use a stain steel chain mail scrubber. I highly suggest you get a chain mail scrubber. However if you use soap. you just have to heat the pan back up on the stove and reoil it after you wash it if you use soap. I never have any issues.I will update this later

I read and followed the instructions step by step before using these pans and caring for these pans and the pans still rusted even with an oil coating. And eggs stick to the pan.

Bought these to learn how to make Japanese eggs. They are wonderful and I would definitely buy again. Just wish it came in a single pan since I only needed one.
