This item didn’t extract anything in fact it pushed the plug further into the Chromebook and needed tech support. Tech had to take the Chromebook apart and work on it from the inside. Cheaply made tool that didn’t work.

Got the job done! Brand new laptop I use for editing, so you know it is no low end system, already had it set up, so I didn't want to return it. Old headphones, the end of the jack broke off, and this was the only safe way I could see getting it out.Took several tries, the more of the plug in there, the easier it is to get. I only had the very tip. I had to twist, and eventually tap the tool in. I marked it how deep the plug was, so I wouldn't tap in too far. Also, grip it really tight, like with pliers, and wiggle and twist. That's what worked for me.

I accidently broke my cheap ear bud's plug inside my Fire tablet's earphone jack. Unfortunately making it override stuck earphones, have sound come out of the speaker when it senses an earphone plug isn't available; so my only option was to use wireless earphones. I heard about this tool, looked for it on Amazon and bought it. It arrived 2 days later and I tried it. I knew from the other reviews to be careful as the rods are sharp both ways, and that the rod might need to be slightly pounded in. So after a few tries I got brave and pounded it in, figuring I wasn't going to make it any worse even if I damaged the earphone jack itself. And it WORKED! It worked really well, need to be careful removing the rod too. I only had to add earphones and reboot the Fire Tablet and it and it worked just fine with new earbuds. Save me a lot of money getting a store repair done for the $8 cost and I got several extra rods in case this happens again.

This worked instantly on the first try. Based on other reviews, I was expecting to maybe need a hammer or multiple attempts. All I needed to do was push the piece with the ring in and pull it out. Had my iPad working again in seconds. I don't normally leave reviews, but this worked so quickly, easily, and perfectly that I felt obliged to. I was so worried about having a broken device or having to spend a bunch of money at a 3rd-party repair place, and honestly it was jarring to have that fall away so quickly.

I wish I went straight to this product as it would have saved me purchasing micro tweezers, soldering iron and trying various pen refill's, new iPad purchase looming!!The end of the jack was well stuck, nothing would budge it, these worked a treat. Tip, stick it all the way in, screw it around a bit and hold iPad upside down - voila!

This product works about half of the time. If you push too hard it breaks but they do give you several pieces so I figured this would happen.

My headphone plug broke off inside the front headphone port on my PC. Took me two tries to remove it with the extraction tool. Had to use a hammer to get it in there.First try, I hammered the tool in lightly for fear of breaking the port itself. Guess it didn’t go in deep enough, because I tried pulling the tool with pliers and the tool came back out, crushed, without the plug in it.Second try, I hammered the next tool in a few more times than before, a little harder and a little deeper. Same thing, pulled the tool with the pliers and out it came with the plug inside.5/5 it was very simple to use, just wedge the tool in deep and pull it back out. Don’t be afraid; you’ve got six chances to get it right. Definitely saved me a lot of headaches and potential cash for a replacement.

Inexpensive solution to a potentially expensive problem. My kids broke a headphone jack off in a computer tower. I was hesitant to buy this because of most of the reviews said it worked for a laptop, tablet or small device. Happy to share that it worked for an actual computer tower. Easy to use - only small issue - the ring that is meant to be pulled broke while trying to pull the pin out. I was able to pull it out but did cut my finger when the ring pulled apart. Again - not a huge thing for me as the purpose of buying this was to remove a stuck headphone piece - but something that could be improved by included a stronger ring.

Used it to extract a headphone plug broken off in the aux port of my car. Was dreading the perspective of costly & labor-intensive disassembly of the entire center console & replacement of the aux port. Was skeptical when came across this, but decided to give it a shot due to the low cost. The package comes with the one short bit installed on the ring; that combination did not work very well, but after several frustrating attempts I swapped the short bit for one of the longer ones and it was a breeze to pull out all the broken pieces in 2 or 3 tries. The brush is a nice addition & can be used to remove any remaining small pieces.
