Although not as heavy as the "old time" diffusers, this one has served quite well. Used on electric stove-top and tea-light warmer, proven a sturdy little item.

I use this with my large wok for when I use the wok for non-wok stuff. I have a large woke but sometimes I want a diffuse heat rather than the uneven intense heat from my steel wok. This is perfect for that. I like using the big wok for atypical applications because it contains splatter well without a cover. This heat diffuser allows me to oil fry without splatter…. Or cook something fragile like fish without a lot of oil.

Let me address two issues that appear in the negative reviews. 1. The aluminum changes color when it is heated. This does not affect the heat distribution in any way. 2. The bottom of the diffuser is covered in blue plastic. As the instructions specify, this must be completely removed before using the product. A few minuscule bits of plastic near the handle will not produce any smoke or fumes. I use this product about once a week for café olla in a clay pot and it works great. No need to buy a more expensive diffuser for my purposes, anyway. Enjoy!

I found the handle to just be a pain you couldn't center the pan on the diffuser. I took the handle off and put in a drawer. also it seems to need a higher flame. Other wise it seems to work ok,

I bought this and another diffuser* to compare them since they have different sizes and numbers of holes. This one has loose rivets holding the handle on and no support for the handle. (The one below has a support for the handle - hard to explain - but it is the style I've always had - but not in Stainless Steel before.) The other reason I am returning it is that it was clad in plastic film. The problem is that the film was put on the two sides before they were crimped together, and some of it is stuck in the seam around the edges and cannot be removed. Also there are some loose pieces trapped inside between the layers. This means a health hazard from fumes when that plastic is burned off with heat/flames. (The one below came "naked" and would not pose that hazard.)
