This heat shield was installed on the muffler of a 1931 Model A Ford which heats up insufferably from the muffler.Even with the little that I have driven the car now during the Fall, I can already detect an improvement!! Hope this will continue on into the next summer when ambient temperatures plus heat from the muffler make it hard to drive in such a hot car.

Works very well to control heat on turbo up pipes.

This product is not a one-size fits all and requires proper measurements and custom cuts and shaping. My Subaru WRX has a Perrin downpipe that is wider at the flange, and the insulation was not wide enough to wrap in its lengthwise (3' X 10")configuration (the description says 1" wide which is a typo). If the downpipe is of a uniform circumference throughout the length of pipe, and you know how to calculate the ID of the shielding PRIOR to ordering, then you could obtain the correct size before installing. I do like the fact that the armor layer is malleable and allows the installer to shape the layer around the pipe where it's oddly contoured. Make sure you get some hi-temp tape before installing, as this is not included. After the install the radiant heat IS significantly reduced, and I could see other engine areas that would benefit from this product. One request: In the product description let buyers know the different sizes and widths available and provide the formula for calculating the correct size.
