bought boat with auto bail plug that almost sank the boat. since replacing it, i have been using this plug for 3 years now and replaced the O ring once. goog purchase. use marine epoxy to seal in place

Should have looked at this product closely, No gasket included, other products availible at 5$ cheaper and gasket included.

Couldn't figure out why we were suddenly taking on water. Took the boat out, filled the ski compartment with water and looked under the boat. We could see a steady trickle coming out of the threads of the plug. Not around the seal where it was installed. At this point the return window has closed so we'll just throw it away. Waste of money.

Plan on getting a different seal ring before installing. When tightening with original rubber ring it bottoms out metal to metal, no sealing to it. Does manufacture not even check the seal? Typical for the times I guess.

My order did not process well in terms of the amount of time it took to arrive to me.. Pandemic I suppose. Product is well made, the plunger fits well and appears to be very durable. My only "negative" is that the length of the cylinder that receives the plug/plunger is only about an 1 1/4" and my boat transom is 2"/wooden leaving exposed wood needing sealing prior to install. It would be great if this product was sold with some variance to depth to accommodate.
