I got the Tree of Life bookends, and they are exactly as pictured, which is gorgeous. I have my pair in a display cabinet out of reach from curious little hands, as the edges on some of the leaves are sharper and could possibly damage tiny fingers of little children. It features some non-skid pads on the four corners of the bookend bottoms, and the luster and color of the metal has not changed after a month or two of collecting dust before being cleaned. Would recommend for the home of anyone without little humans or put far away from wandering hands to prevent anyone from being hurt.

Both the hubby and I are book worms, so we have a lot of books. I saw the tree set and immediately ordered them because I knew he'd love them. And he does. They are not substantial, so I wouldn't use them for large or heavy books, but they do fine with smaller paperbacks.

These were terribly packaged (protected by nothing but a thin bag), and arrived already bent/twisted out of shape. The metal is not super thick so it may have been a shipping accident, but either way that falls on the seller for poor practices.After opening, there is a very noticeable lack of quality control in whatever manufacturing process they use. On one side, the metal was not cut properly in two places; The first they just left the piece of metal in place still attached (supposed to be punched out for the design), while in the other, rather than cut off a piece of metal that was too large, they just wrapped it around another part of the bookend, which is almost comically lazy.Other than the design being accurate to the listing, there is not much going for this product. Even for the current price, I would not recommend this product/seller in current state.

I actually ordered these to hold a door open (the house is originally from the 50's and things are wonky). The door doesn't stay open on it's own for whatever reason, and these (put together) are just heavy enough to keep it open. The reason for the three stars is that if I had ordered them for the original purpose, I'm not sure that they'd be heavy duty enough to hold heavy books. They're quite thin on their own, and even arrived bent almost flat..

These will be part of a birthday gift package for a family member. I like the birds on the branches. Good for holding some trade paperbacks or a few hardback books, not meant to hold up a whole row of heavy reference books. Price was good, delivery relatively speedy. Would buy again.

I rarely need bookends; mostly, I need more bookSHELVES! But I found myself with a row of books stacked on top of a bookcase that needed something for each end to keep them from falling off, and these certainly did the trick. They're a nice sturdy metal. All the corners and edges are smooth and rounded, so they won't scuff my books. Since they're L-shaped, they can go right up at the edge of a shelf and don't have a problem with an edge of the base protruding. And I love the tree motif. The base is about 3.5" long, so the bookend doesn't pop out when you remove a wide book or two holding it down. And they look really, really nice. (I got the "Tree Shadow A - black" ones) I may be easily impressed given how many of my bookends came from random yard sales and the like, but I'm impressed. And I love that design. It looks natural but still slightly abstract, depending on how you look at it, and it would go with everything from my eclectic stuff to much more sophisticated decor.
