I used this bit at a low speed setting on my router, as suggested, and it was fine for just a bit. The second time I tried to use it, the shank bent and nearly destroyed my router collet. Do NOT buy this. It is at best a waste of money, and at worst an injury waiting to happen.

Removed the extension from the plastic container and it looked fine.Installed on the router, turned it on and it shook the router. Reset it in the router and same thing. Tried it with 2 of my other routers and the same thing.The upper shaft has a slight bend causing the shack.

I have only used this extender once but it worked perfectly! Only slight problem was that the diameter at its widest part (bottom, opposite of shank) is larger than the bit's collar - so, once the extender/bit was lowered deeper, the extender (instead of the bit collar) started riding along the template (pushing the cut inwards a little).
