This was my first power tool purchase, and I finally got to use it this morning—I was blown away by how powerful and user-friendly it is! Getting to that point, however, was a bit of a journey due to some mistakes on my part. I initially missed the detail in the product description that stated “battery not included,” so I had to order a compact battery, but I forgot the charger. I then ordered a generic charger that was supposed to work with Dewalt products, but it didn’t fit the battery. After searching for a compatible Dewalt charger for the hedge trimmer (model DCB201) with no luck, I turned to the Amazon Community for advice. I got quick responses, with two suggestions for the DCB112 model charger, which I ordered.Once the charger arrived, everything fit perfectly, and it didn’t take long to get the battery fully charged. Excited, I headed outside this morning to take on my overgrown bushes. I started with the smaller trimmer attachment and was amazed at how powerful it was. Trimming the small, square Boxwoods in front of my house was effortless, and I was able to reshape them into a more oval form with ease. Then, I tackled the thorny, overgrown shrubs, and the same attachment handled the thicker branches without any issues. The compact size and light weight are perfect for someone like me, standing at just 5’1”, and I had no trouble reaching higher branches.I haven’t tried the longer hedge clipper yet, but I’m confident it will perform just as well. This trimmer has more than enough power for my gardening tasks, and the battery holds a charge for a long time. Even with the additional cost of the battery and charger, it's still far more affordable than other hedge trimmers, which is a big plus.

We don't do any heavy duty trimming but we have front hedges that grow like crazy so they need to be maintained, especially with all the rain we've had this season. We bought a corded trimmer years ago because it was on clearance and cheap. It works, but it so inconvenient. It is bulkier, has longer blades, and the cord gets tangled on everything..This cordless trimmer is so much easier to work with.It's easy to change out the blades and is compact, easy to store. It has wheels included to do ground work if you want.I like that it is a DeWalt because we already have a battery. It's no super powerful so knowing how it will be used is key to knowing if this will work for you. It is pretty lightweight even with the battery and easy to grip. I would recommend for light work.

Most of my batteries are Black and Decker, and I have an adapter to fit B&D batteries to run Dewalt tools. I also have a large collection of Dewalt batteries. When I saw this little gem, I thought it was simply too good to be true. An excellent combination tool set where multiple tool (fitings) can be run by a single base. I've been using B&D's "matrix" sool set, for years. I picked this up for the same reason. Swapping out the shears with the hedge trimmer is a SNAP!Both tool do an excellent job and, since I don't have overly large hedges, being able to better control the hedge trimmer because of the far more compact handle and convenient adjustment rotation button. It has a VERY intuitive design, and allows for incremental adjustment of 45 degrees. Unless you have larger hedges that require reach beyond arm's length, this is the ideal tool. It made short work of the hedges we have that were SADLY in need of some attention. It is recommended that nothing over 1/3 inch be cut but, personally, I'd draw the line at closer to 14 inch. The tool can handle lrger, but this is best suited for finer, more precise work. This is not an "industrial workhorse," by any stretch of the imagination. However, it's not advertised as such, either. It did what I needed it to do, and made short work of it. An excellent find! For the price, I would rate this as an excellent value.Wholehearted four star endorsement!

I wanted a cordless solution to maintain some hedges in my front yard without investing in new batteries or an expensive new tool. Since I already own Dewalt 20V tools, this trimmer fit seamlessly into my collection. The 2-in-1 design functions as both a bush trimmer and grass shear, which has been incredibly convenient for tackling different landscaping tasks. It’s lightweight and easy to handle which makes trimming hedges or other landscaping effortless. The cordless feature gives me the freedom to move around my yard without dealing with extension cords or gas fumes and I think it is safer overall to handle. This hedge trimmer has made yard work more efficient and enjoyable and I’m really pleased with its performance. It is powerful enough for everything I need but if you are looking to trim large branches or thick plants this may struggle in some areas. The switching of blades is super easy and convenient. I think this is a great value considering its versatility and easy of use.

Love the different accessories for this trimmer. Not as long as my other trimmers BUT the small size is what I needed to do better fine cuts of my bushes. This fitted my Dewalt battery just fine and also is quite.
