Not as nice as I was expecting, but a decent knife.

Blade is sharp but still it takes a lot of physical strength to cut anything with this knife. Somehow a $5 steak knife slices tomatoes, carrots and potatoes better than this high quality knife.

Thought this would complement my other Henkel set, but this one was heavy, dull, and I’m not sure what it’s used for. Thought it could replace the Hinkles tomato knife I had that was very disappointed in this knife

A little disappointed. I thought this would be a good replacement for my Henkel serrated utility knife that came with my original Henkels knife set. It’s not the same type of serrated knife. Good for cutting tomatoes and certain other veggies. Does not work well on breads, cheeses or potatoes. This knife does not have single serrated blades, i.e. one side of the blade is flat, while the other shows small, regular scallop-shaped indentations with pointy or slightly rounded tips. I thinks it’s a double serrated blade because there are serrations on both sides of the blade. In short, I’m not in love with this knife as I was with my original one.

For $25 I was expecting a quality utility knife, especially with the name Henckels. Yes, it is well balanced, has a nice handle grip, and is just the right size for so many cutting tasks, but it is dull. I tried cutting through a lemon, a raw broccoli stalk, a cooked piece of meat, and a piece of cheese, trying to figure out what it would cut through easily. But on each item it got stuck half-way through and I either had to exert a lot more pressure or I just removed it and used one of my cheaper serrated knives to easily finish the job. And I was also surprised to see on the blade, "Made in China."

This is clearly a high quality product. Super sharp, really good feel and balance, and looks nice too.
