After going to Arts and Crafts type stores, looking for a suitable replacement works for my 24" wall clock (I even ordered one from Amazon whichI returned), I discovered this Hicarer kit. Biggest difference was (at the risk of sounding indecent), the length of the shaft. Perfect fit for my refurbished clock, easy to install, good price. Whadya waiting for?

This would probably be fine indoors but I wanted it for an outdoor clock. The mechanism works fine and I used my original hands on it. The hands are very flimsy.

Needed a long shaft for a replacement on a grandfather clock. All others weren't long enough but this one was an exact replacement.

I didnt realize that the mechanism box had a plastic hook when I purchased this, so I had to clip that off for it to fit in the box on the back of my clock. That was easy to do. As others have noted, this is EXTREMELY thin metal. Mine bent when I pulled it out of the package. I bent it back, but now you can see where it was bent. The hands push on so you have to be really careful not to push too hard because you will bend the hands if you do. The hands are pretty tho. Only had it working for 30 minutes, but seems to keep time so far. For the price I expected a bit more. Love my new clock tho.
