Excellent USB expansion card. 20gbps per port! You can daisy chain normal USB hubs with each of these ports. Highly recommended. One can never have too many high speed USB ports. Love that speed. There are some cheap cards that "share" the bandwidth among all devices and performance suffers. In addition, make sure to use proper 20gbps or higher rated cables to fully utilize this. Wrong cables will give you low speed for sure.

Overheated and caused BSODs until I installed an additional super loud fan above it to help with cooling. And that was in a standard large tower with decent airflow already. Took forever to troubleshoot and figure out.

I see the one star review here and his experience isn't mine. So far this card has worked AMAZING in an old workstation PC I had lying around. I am using it to give myself 2.5g networking via USB and have 5 ports going to hard drive enclosures (another 2 to esata, shout out to mediasonic and ebay) and this card RIPS. Not only do I get full speed from the 2.5g networking card, but this storage spaces speed has dramatically improved from my old machine. Where I had a lot of the drives plugged into a USB 3.0 pcie x1 card.To put it in perspective I went from SD card speeds (around 60mb) on my 21(one is a 4 drive hard raid) to actual HDD read speeds around 140-160.I am very pleased with this card, it's performance; and its ease of use to install.I had ONE hiccup with the Power, as my computer didn't have a 6 Pin. But had SATA (modular dell power supply) a simple Amazon purchase fixed that!Would recommend this card to someone who is looking to access LOTS of drives or USB peripherals at rapid speeds.Pound for pound you get more bang for your buck than a thunderbolt 4 adapter. On my MSI PC I have their pcie thunderbolt card. It is only 4 lane and 40gb. While this isn't the thunderbolt tech, you are still have a 160gb overhead. HOWEVER. Pcie 3x16 is max speed of 16GB/sIt's a shame they don't make a thunderbolt card like this.EditHave had this card almost a year. Will say it's working fine.CONSNO ONE makes 20GBS USB peripherals. There are a few NVME enclosures out there but I can't even find a hub to split one 20 port into two 10s.HighPoint DOES make a 10gbs card, however just for future compatibility id still get this one again

I bought two of these same cards. One from Amazon and one directly from Highpoint sales. The one I bought direct from Highpoint ran for a few hours and then started making a very high pitched noise from the fan. Then a loud grinding sound and the fan blades broke off sending small pieces all over the pc. Took hours to cleen it. Here's the sad part, i returned the time to Highpoint more than a week ago. They are holding my refund while they run tests on the broken item. In addition... hold onto your seats... they want to charge me a 25% restocking fee! No kidding folks! 20+ years I've ran an IT MSP appdev company and never saw anything like this. Both in terms are bad quality control and customer service. The card I bought from Amazon is still working. Fingers crossed. Unreal. Be warned. Highpoint is one od those companies to avoid.
