Note:
The power supply should be DC, can't be AC, or the DC motor speed controller will be burnt.
Please make sure the connection with power supply is correct, or the speed controller will be broken.
The positive and negative of motor can be ignored, when the running direction is inconsistent with the expectations, you can adjust the order of the cable to change the orientation.
Adjust potentiometer knob, which can change the output occupying vacancy proportion of controller, to change motor speed.

Connected to my 12v fan and it worked but even with the knob turned all the way up the fan speed was about 1/4 speed of what the actual output of the fan was. Unit was also very hot. Too hot for my comfort to have behind the dash panel around plastic and wires. Might work better on a different setup. Also the positive and negative terminals are too small. I had 12 gauge stranded wire and the screw wouldn't loosen enough to get the complete wire under it. Had to really fight with it to get the wire under the screw plate.

I used these for a G-scale model railroad control system. The system has 20 stations, and I went through 3-4 failures in the first couple months, but once through the 'infant mortality' phase, they have performed well with heavy use for over a year now. I did use a thermal overload, which helped with their reliability. Once a fuse blew, it seemed that the device would not last long. I would use them again.

I am very impressed with this. It's very well built. It has a ceramic fuse and 3 MOSFET's with heatsinks. The power regulation is very smooth when adjusting.

I have blown up several of these. Found it better to buy an AC speed control and add a good rectifier to it for DC motors.
