PT100 MAX31865 RTD Temperature Thermocouple Sensor Amplifier Module
Description:
We've carried various MAXIM thermocouple amplifiers and they're great - but thermocouples don't have the best accuracy or precision,
for when the readings must be as good as can be. The MAX31865 handles all of your RTD needs, and can even compensate 3 or 4 wire RTDs
for better accuracy. Connect to it with any microcontroller over SPI and read out the resistance ratio from the internal ADC.
We put a 430? 0.1% resistor as a reference resistor on the breakout. We have some example code that will calculate the temperature
based on the resistance for you.
We even made the breakout 5V compliant, with a 3.3V regulator and level shifting, so you can use it with any Arduino or microcontroller.
Package included:
1* PT100 MAX31865 RTD Temperature Thermocouple Sensor Amplifier Module

Funziona bene. La sto usando per leggere una sonda PT100 a tre fili tramite arduino nano.

Unfortunately my sensor did not work at all with my PT100. I was able to confirm the PT100 as working properly, which was a 3 prong sensor. I cut the appropriate trace and tested with a multimeter to confirm the trace was cut. I applied solder on the appropriate solder joint for my 3 wire PT100.When connecting to my microcontroller with SPI protocol I only got readings of 0 degrees consistently. No shorts or errors. Upon further testing it seemed as if the main chip on the board was faulty. Very disappointed.

This was perfect for my RTD amplifier requirement. It came with all the pin headers and screw terminals required and is compatible with the existing microcontroller libraries.

Pros:Accurate temperature readingsCompatible with ESP32 and Python for automationSolid build qualityCons:Initial setup can be a bit trickyLimited documentation includedI purchased the HiLetgo PT100 MAX3186 temperature sensor for my home automation projects, and it has proven to be a valuable addition to my toolkit. The sensor provides accurate temperature readings, which is crucial for maintaining the right environment in various applications. One of the standout features for me is its compatibility with the ESP32 and Python, allowing me to easily integrate it into my smart home setup. The ability to automate temperature monitoring and control is a big plus. The build quality is solid, ensuring durability over time. However, I did encounter some challenges during the initial setup. The documentation provided was a bit limited, and I had to do some online research to get everything up and running. If you're not familiar with similar sensors, you might find the setup a bit tricky. In conclusion, the HiLetgo PT100 MAX3186 temperature sensor is a reliable option for those looking to incorporate temperature monitoring into their projects. Despite the setup learning curve, its accuracy and compatibility make it a worthwhile investment.

Instructions would be nice, but this is basically the Adafruit MAX31865 RTD module. So instructions can be found on the Adafruit website. Otherwise, this module provides a convenient and streamlined interface for the PT100 / PT1000 RTD's. The output is very accurate and consistent. A 'nice to have' would be a redesigned module that can handle more than one RTD and revised code with the flexibility to initialize multiple classes for multiple RTD's.

I bought this unit needing a thermocouple sensor amplifier. This unit does not appear to be a thermocouple amplifier, but rather a PT100 RTD "amplifier." I still did not see details if this is for a RTD with an alpha of 0.00385 or 0.00392. Ignore the posting title and read the details carefully more carefully than I did.

This is for RTDs only, which is the reason I got it. It is a nice unit because it will accept a 4 wire RTD which will allow for the best accuracy you will get out of an RTD. Great unit and highly recommended!

Bought two, worked exactly as advertised (and matched the much more expensive adafruit model exactly). Resistance/temperature readings were very stable. I used it with the Particle Photon microcontroller.I want to buy more but they are now out of stock!
