Product Description

Carriage Bolts are designed to fasten a wooden face to either a wood or metal frame. Its flat head is designed to eliminate the need for a washer and provide a semi-flush finish to applications. The square underside of the head is self locking to eliminate spinning and the need for a driving tool. The galvanized finish provides optimal rust prevention but can be chalky in appearance.

From the Manufacturer

Carriage Bolts have a smooth, rounded head that has a small square section underneath. They are used in wood connections utilizing the square neck under the round head which will sit into the hole to prevent the head from turning. These carriage bolts come plated in zinc for moderate corrosion resistance.

The bolts were almost all fine ... 3 out of the 25 had threads that were messed up and I couldn't screw on the bolt, do they were tossed, but most were great

The price was good but the threads as others have noted were not real clean. I used the coarse thread nuts on these and other bolts I purchased from a local box store. Threading the nuts on was easy to spin on the box store carriage bolts but did not spin on as easy on these China made ones. I used the same nuts on both sets of carriage bolts. In addition some threads on 2 or 3 bolts were not useable because the threads were clogged with debris (bad die cut). However, to lose about 2 - 3 bolts out of 50 not bad. Price was half the price of box store so that's a plus. I will try to upload later a photo of bad bolts.

Works great, if you need nuts, just go to the hardware store and match them up. Worked fine on over 5 bolts I've tried so far.

just went through nearly the entire box of 50 and no defects at all - no burrs, no bad cuts, no mashed threads, no breaks (I torqued down about 1/16 - 1/8 bite into treated pine), no problems - and the cost was about 2/3 the box stores. If they had them when you needed them.

Just what I wanted. I first bought these at one of the local big box stores. For the same box of 50 pieces it was over twice the money. These came in the exact same box of 50 pieces that the ones from the big box store came in. GREAT DEAL!!!!
