Should of bought these years ago. I have a big bag of older cheaper cleats that are outstretched, broken and even slippery on the hardest ice! These are well made and crunches through ice no problem. It has not outstretched or changed shape all season. Used everyday in ravine trails walking the dogs. Recommend!

These ice crampons actually keep me from slipping on ice under a topping of snow on my backwoods lane that ices over from plowing in winter. Our mountain town has 6-7 months of winter and the icy season is deadly- especially for those of us who are not spring chickens anymore. I have probably 15 different styles and brands of crampons in my closet, inluding high end ones. Many work ok but are hard to put on the shoe or boot, so I leave them on all winter and have to change into the boots before walking dog. The L fit easily over my LL LBean size 10 womens leather hiking boots and removed easily while giving me a comfortable, safe walk on the ice. They bit through the wet snow cover but I never felt off balance. I walked on te edge of our uneven, crusted frozen lake and felt secure. Also, the hill sound crampons don't seemto clog with snow like my Katoolas. Win/win. Will see about longevity.

Tried several brands over the years. These are the best. Worth the price.

I have been testing these for trail running in extremely muddy slippery conditions during the California winter. On days which would have been impossible with my shoes alone, I have had excellent traction totally without slipping. The heavy clay mud which normally would stick to the bottom of my shoes does not seem to stick at all. It is amazing to be able to run down a slick muddy slope in the rain with perfect traction.

These have saved my coccyx many a time! They stay on my size 12 winter boots and go on and off easily when needed. Pricier than some options, but worth every penny.

These are by far the best items I have ever bought for ice traction. They are more pricey than ice traction devices, but they are absolutely worth it. I have never slipped while wearing these. I also don't slip when pushing off with my toe. These have allowed me to walk with my normal step. With other devices I have to alter how I walk. I have 100% confidence in my footing when I wear these.

We found these at a local sporting goods store that has been in business for many years and carries high quality products. Being the end of the season the only size they had left was one that would fit my wife but not me. We bought hers there and I looked for them on Amazon in my size. These are undoubtedly the best ones I've had. The rubber pulls up over the toe far enough that there is no chance they will slip off and they come up at the rear on the heel sufficiently as well. They have nubbins on the underside to help keep them in contact with the sole of your boot and there is no metal on the bottom to rust and fall apart. The spikes are stainless steel triangles that really bite into the ice. With each step you can hear them cutting right down through the ice and they do not slip, unlike our old ones. I wholeheartedly recommend these and have already done so to some friends and neighbors. We are in an at-risk age group for falls so anything we can do to minimize the likelihood is worth it in my book. Great product. These are not inexpensive but, in comparison to a visit to the hospital, they make for cheap insurance. Now we'll just have to see if they are of sufficient quality to last multiple seasons.

I was told that this wouldn't be good for hiking in ice long trails, that any other crampons with longer nails would be a lot better. Now I can say that I would the best one for small price. This kind of crampons have an advantage and is that all of it are made with rubber. It means that the snow or the ice doesn't get stick to it and you walk freely without to have to stop once in a while to clean them. With the crampons with metal chains, that is something you have to do to be able to continue walking without damaging your feet.

I live in Southern NH. I hike for 1-3 hours every day. In the past it was mainly with snow shoes but lately not much snow but lots of ice. I have gone through many different ice traction devices. Most were hard to put on, had chains that got clogged with snow and starting breaking apart after just a few monthsThese are the best ever. Easy on and easy off. No snow or ice buildup. I can hike on ice trails with no fear of falling (at age 74 this is a major concern).

I bought these for winter trail hiking. They are amazing on icy trails with no snow or dry snow cover. But if there's a few inches of wet snow, the snow gets packed around and over the teeth, which renders them less effective. Overall an excellent product. Medium fits my size 10 men's hiking boots.

I power walk on the trails in the woods with my dog every day. I am a 67 year old women and a couple of years ago I slipped on the ice and broke my arm. Since then, with the cleats I had before, I would be very unsure of walking on the ice-covered snow trails because they would not bite into the surface. I have been walking with my new Hillsound Flexstep Crampons for about a week and I must say, they are fantastic. They bite into whatever I am walking on, and even puncture smooth hard ice. I can now walk strong and fast with confidence. They are easy to put on and take off. They are light and stay put .... they don't budge. My other cleats would twist and get crooked and I would have to stop and adjust them. I would 100% recommend these crampons. They are well made and worth every cent I paid for them.

These fit nicely over my trail runners and didn't move around as I walked. Used these to hike on a rocky trail with ice patches. I was worried about sliding of the rocks at first, but the gripped pretty well. On the ice these were amazing. Every step felt solidly planted. It didn't matter if the ground was flat, an incline or a decline. When walking through leaves and pine needles they did not stick to the spikes. All around these are great!
