I have a lot of Home Grown seeds, so choosing this one was a simple decision. The seeds germinate quickly with very little effort, so they are fresh. This packaging doesn't have a resealable top, so this is the only thing missing from this seller. I like a resealable top because it helps to keep the seeds viable for a longer period of time while not in use. Regardless, these seeds are recommended, especially for Amazon's low listed selling price.

I am planning on sprinkling these around the perimeter of my yard. I already grew lavender, and I found that the seeds that drop naturally start new plants every year. I would like this to happen on the border of my yard, and I bought these seeds to help with that naturalizing. They seem to be of good quality, and there are a lot of seeds in the package.

Herbs are one of my favorite things in our garden and lavender is at the top of the list. It has a wonderful smell and it’s a pretty plant even when there aren’t any blooms. It’s also low maintenance once it’s been established and it works well as an accent plant in a variety of places. This package of English Lavender seeds will definitely be put to good use as we expand our garden and add to our landscaping this season.I’m not a seed expert, but they appear to be healthy and viable – i.e. no indication of broken or dried up seeds. The package contains upwards of 1500 seeds so there’s plenty to plant both outdoors as well as in containers that will remain inside. I know it can be a bit tricky to start lavender from seed but my husband seems to have a knack for doing just that. I’m looking forward to a beautiful and healthy herb garden this year.

Update: this is actually viable... I was a total newbie when I first got it... they are viable.I got this in February when the sell-by date is in April? I know it's generally still OK within 3yrs of packing and it was packed last year but I'd expect some discount on this. The reason why I say this is because lavender is already notoriously hard to start from seed... literally one of the hardest... the seller really should be more careful with their stock. This is still early in the season and I'm barely at the end of cold stratification in zone 6... I'll come back with a full report... but then again maybe if they all fail it shouldn't be indicative of these seeds as that's just how hard lavender is? We shall see...

I cant wait to start these lavender seeds. If they take off, they'll go in my drought tolerant yard. I have read that lavender is hard to start from seed and I hope to be updating this review with good news that they really are, as claimed, high germinators. In that case, these will be worth the high price point of around five dollars for one packet of 1500 seeds. Another reviewer pointed out that their packet was printed 2024, meaning they were harvested in 2023. I received the exact same packet but mine has a 2025 sticker over the original date. Hopefully they are as they say, and just using last year's envelopes.

These are last season seeds. They are packaged for sell in 2024 which means they were harvested in 2023. That’s not to say they aren’t viable, but it should have been stated that they were not fresh.
