I bought this thermostat to replace an old thermostat that had stopped working correctly. Simple to use and seems to work well. More precise regulating the heater than ar regular mechanical thermostat.

Easy to follow instructions. Works correctly. Controls seem good. Does take up a lot of room in the electrical box, so you may have trouble jamming all the wiring in like I did. But it did fit.My baseboard heater uses two 120 hot wires and does not use the white neutral, which typically completes the circuit to the ground bar in the breaker box. Since the two 120s oscillate with opposite sine waves, the twin hot completes the circuit. I did not understand this before I installed my heater and it gave me pause.

This baseboard heater thermostat works well so far. There are bad reviews. I'm a 35 year electrician and engineer. This control does not appear to be UL listed. I'm using this unit well below the listed maximum rating. Have 1000 watt heater hooked to it and used a Leviton wall box extension to mount the unit to the wall. The extension keeps the wall box, wires, and unit from exceeding the fill requirements, and with the intent to keep the unit from over heating. The thermostat has been working for the past month with no issues. The room is staying a more even temperature. The unit cycles more with shorter on times. Time will tell if this affects the over all power usage, not expecting it will. But room comfort is much improved. This units warranty does not provide for homeowner installation. Use a professional electrician who is aware of the load and a proper installation to prevent overheating.

Fire and Safety Plus delivered fast and right the first time. This Honeywell thermostat is an easy drop-in replacement for line voltage heating control. My only wish is that the Amazon photo of the thermostat should be high resolution. The low resolution of the current pic blurs the detail of the control surface, and leaves the function of the on/off switch unclear to the viewer. That switch is an important feature; it allows heat to be very easily turned off without changing the thermostat temperature setting. The heat can be quickly turned back on without any settings change. Important note: This is a device that works at full AC line voltage -- up to 240 Volts. Unlike typical low-voltage thermostats, line voltage devices like this one can injure or kill the installer. If you're not experienced with line voltage circuits, then you need to have a qualified electrician install a line voltage device for you.
