Plug and play , easy set up. Racing with a wheel and pedals is a total game changer, if you can drive well this will change your gaming experience by a million haha. Awesome ,so much fun. Again this wheel is entry level but works very well.

I don’t usually give bad reviews because I try to be open minded and usually have good results from products that last for years beyond their warranty. However, this is a mixed review because: 1) I realize this is a budget wheel at only $96 for such a quality made device with pedals and 2) it still works great for arcade racing games or if you don’t turn it beyond than 180 degrees left or right. I didn’t notice that it only had a 90-day warranty until I found the Hori website to get help with what was obviously a hardware problem. Their website made the 90-day warranty painfully clear and their response to my email, although prompt, has been one to suggested problems with the gaming console as if there’s nothing wrong with the wheel itself. The problem is that the optional Quick Handling Mode which is designed to reduce the steering range from 270 degrees to 180 degrees, has suddenly started working by default and cannot be turned-off. If I follow the steps to turn it on, it triggers at 45 degrees instead of 90 like it is supposed to! This maybe fine on a racing game but on ATS (American Truck Simulator), it’s extremely difficult when the wheels jump from 50% to 100% instantly then back to 50% with just a slight movement beyond 90 degrees to the left or right! It’s not a linear 180 degrees movement from edge-to-edge.Not exaggerating, I’ve probably spent hours researching the problem (thinking it was the game) and adjusting the many settings in ATS to know avail. I’ve tried changing the USB port, etc. to no avail.Like most have said, the pedals don’t stay in place so I put two short nails in the holes at the bottom front of the base then Velcro at the bottom of the heel plate then placed it on a rubber backed floor mat to keep it from sliding forward. The pedals are also at a crazy steep angle so I taped a book to the bottom of the heel plate to raise it up thus reducing the angle of the pedals. I really like the two buttons in the wheel, a convenience I have not seen on any other wheel but the new problem is a deal breaker!Update 2022/12/30 - After purchasing another wheel from well-known, trusted brand, I discovered the same problem. After requesting help from the game developers, it turned out to be a setting that I was not aware of so I've changed my review to 5 stars since everything else about the Hori wheel was really great, especially for the price. I'm going to keep it for use with my PS4 since the new wheel has more features that are compatible with PCs.

I recently bought GT sport. After playing the VR mode (which is INCREDIBLE) I realized the only way to get the fully immersive experience was to pick up a racing wheel. I was so excited I rushed to the computer, hopped on Amazon and was about to spend $300+. Then as I saw the total on the checkout page I sobered up from this strange video game accessory blackout and realized.... I'M ABOUT TO SPEND MORE THAN THE PRICE OF MY CONSOLE ON A PERIPHERAL. I checked out some of my other options and found only two in the $99 range. The other was another official Sony Licensed Product, but had no force feedback. So I chose the HORI Racing Wheel Apex. Let me tell you that I could not be more satisfied with this purchase !!! The wheel handles beautifully. It has a very high quality look and feel to it, and it performs very smoothly. The force feedback isn't the best, but it more than does the trick for the price range! Pedals are responsive and feature accurate sensitivity. Worked immediately with no hassle hooking it up. I used the clamp to mount it to a snack tray and it works just great for the experience. Now when I put on my VR headset and grab this wheel... I swear it feels like I'm really in the cockpit of a high speed race car. Simply amazing. If you're in the market for a racing wheel and don't want to break the bank... this should be your choice. I'm certainly glad that I went this route and saved myself a few hundred bucks.

This wheel for the price is good and does exactly as I expected it to. The wheel comes with two ways to attach it to your table or wherever you have it one is a screw in mechanism and the other is suction cups. The foot pedals on the other hand might be a little bit difficult to keep still if you don't prop them up against a wall however I find that they don't move around most of the time and this can easily be remedied by using double sided tape or moving your pedals to somewhere against a wall. I plugged it in and it came with decent settings from out of the box I haven't had any problems with the games that I've played including more obscure ones that I wasn't sure the wheel would support. For The Crew the wheel had the control set up already made once I connected it and it was a fairly competent set up with the acceleration and brakes already bound to the foot pedals and the button switches already set up as well. The second game that I tried was BeamNG.Drive and it worked perfectly as well however I did need to switch around how the keys were set up just to make it a bit more comfortable setup. I also loaded up PCSX2 and got my copy of Gran Turismo 4 and was able to easily bind the wheel to the key inputs that the game required and haven't had any problems with it. The wheel comes with an instruction manual and its imperative that you read it in order to get the full potential out of your wheel and to adjust sensitivity settings to your liking so that the wheel controls like you want it too. The build quality is good and after messing around with the wheel for hours on end and giving it some hard turns here and there it has held up fine and no parts have broken and the controller had not gone out of calibration for the time that I've had it. As someone who is new to racing wheels I can safely say that if you're new to them as well you will not be disappointed by this wheel as its by far one of the best ones that you can buy for you money without going on Ebay and getting a used one in questionable condition.
