Absolutely junk got these for 1/8 material to prevent burn thru but all they do os leave a trail of slag and porosity and crap that has to be ground out and passed over with a quality rodNot worth it!

Not easy to strike at all. Doesn’t flow well. Had to run the heat about 5-10 amps higher than forney and other brands. CANT DO MUCH WITH 1/16 IF I HAVE TO RUN IT SO HIGH. You’ll burn holes in all thin wall projects you do with this one

When I talk about "heads," it's the tip of the welding rod. Ever heard of the term "stinky sticky?" Well, this rod is "stinky" because it's sticky. When it comes to tails, no starting arc at all. The rod tells the welder to "go chase its tail!" This brand, Hot Max, is a pack of E6013 welding rods that act like E7018s. I have used the Chicago Electric brand of E6013 arc welding rods and they got immediate starting arcs. Hot Max demands much practice to use, much like the E7018. However, once you get used to it, it can translate into NEAT welding finishes. But Hot Max lives up to its name too much in two contexts. First off, the rods require the hottest possible temperatures to get the arc started after initial electrical contact. And second - the slag is hot enough to start a fire! So keep all flammable fabric materials (braids, cloth, paper and leaves and the like) AWAY!

AC is not recommended and it is difficult to weld with. Made in China.

Me deje llevar por los buenos comentarios, y no hice caso a los malos, pero la verdad es que no sirven, no hacen arco a ningún amperaje, ni al recomendado, ni mas bajo, ni mas alto, son hechos en china, así que no me sorprende.

Believe it or not, I am rebuilding an old chevy p/u, and the cab needs a lot of fab work. So, these rods allow me to weld 22 gauge sheet metal, with a regular ac arc welder on 40 amps.

Strike an arc, what will you build today? These work well, there's a few in the box.
