I have bought these buckets 5 different times for food storage and they've been fantastic (which is why I keep ordering them). However, the lid was changed on my most recent order and I DESPISE them. They don't seal as well, and the one long notch is much harder to screw and unscrew than the previous design.

Bought three 2-gallon gamma seal buckets and seals and tried/tested one of them today for air/water tightness. It leaks, and leaks a lot, between the screw-in-lid and the Gamma ring that came with the lid. No leaks at the seal between the bucket and Gamma ring. Tried to turn/tighten the lid and cannot tighten it anymore without the whole lid/top rotating on the bucket. Looked at several You-Tube videos and not sure what problem(s) might be. . Our intended use was to carry water/liquids in the trunk of our car, the lids were to provide easy access to the water/liquids but now worried about leakage if it turns over - thus the Gamma Seal lid that leaks will not meet our needs. It is certainly not airtight. Looking for help/suggestions on this and anything else to try. Thanks

Great little buckets to have for storage. I went with these for water glassing eggs. It seems the five gallon are just to heavy and eggs can break in bottom. Holds 75 eggs if your wondering.

I've been really happy with these. Good quality buckets, great (gamma) lids, USA made, and the perfect size for kitchen use.I originally purchased two buckets to store kamut flour, but have since gotten others to store rice. Holding 10 - 15 lbs of dry food each, they're easy to handle, yet hold plenty. (5 gallon buckets, by contrast, would seem unwieldy). They aren't exactly cheap, but they seem to be a solid product that will last for years to come.

I'm keeping my super hot pepper powder mix in one, and my general use pepper powder mix in another. The third is on debate for a chili powder mix or a general purpose no salt mix.So far, so good. No issues yet. In case you didn't know, pepper powders keep for at least a decade if processed properly and kept properly. The regular Tabasco also keeps a long time and is low salt compared to literally every other brand out there.
