Turning the eggs by hand is the most demanding and time consuming part of egg incubation. Specifications: Turner hold a total of six egg racks. Each Universal Egg Rack holds any size from a partridge egg up to duck eggs (total 41 eggs per turner), and with the quail egg racks in place the turner will hold 120 quail eggs. 15' x 15' x 3',110 Volt AC (220 Volt available for export). CAN BE USED WITH ALL HOVA-BATOR INCUBATORS. You get one turner with 2 sets of racks. Pictures show turner set up each way.

Ordered an egg turner... and what is THIS??? A spatula! I just wanted a SPATULA!!! :D -This works as expected and is indeed a time saver. typical of much manufacturing today, appears to be of less quality than I would expect for a farm / homestead / type of tool. Like the hova-bator itself - Baby this, store it well and it should last many years.. Well, we hope. These can do a bang up job, but you can't bang them up! The basic units with a wafer thermostat, and an egg turner give results that can be near identical to the fancy ones with digital controls. Remember that Poultry is not digital (maybe chicken fingers?) and the hens do not control temp to the Nth degree. So don't overthink these or think you need such "precision". Just check on them a couple times a day to verify all is working well, maybe tweak the temp if there is a major pressure change. By and large, incubating poultry is not rocket science. Good fresh fertile eggs, correct temp and humidity, and at the right time - pop! there they are. THIS device removes 80% of the work. ( turning the eggs ) Now - back to finding a spatula!Cheers!

Box was not damaged at all, one of the egg trays was broken so it could not be attached to the turner.

Recently I just lost some eggs in this. 10 days into the set we found all our eggs in the bottom of the incubator. It seems the plastic parts are rather rough as far as finish goes. On mine the connector arm broke and allowed the trays to flip over. In all fairness the box looked like it might have had a bit of rough handling in shipment. I since spent some time removing spalling from the edges of the plastic parts . I found the racks were binding, not just against the frame, but also on the motor side of the pivot area. And yes I did rotate them up to the angle where they are supposed to snap in. GQF incubators have a great reputation in the poultry world with which I agree. So I called them and they were just great about it. Even though it looked as if the unit had been damaged in shipment they instantly put a new connector arm in the mail for me. Sadly once we got it we still found that even without a broken connector the machine was dumping a lot of the rather larger Coturnix Eggs out of the quail cups. So in dread I emailed them asking them what I might do. And this is when I really saw what the company is made of. Instead of just monkeying around with me, pecking away at repairs until we found the problem on the machine the way a lot of companies might do, in turn wasting the spring hatch for us. They simply sent us an email back requesting our address and shipped us an entirely new unit. How is that for a dedicated company? I am impressed. This one arrived in an undamaged box at our door just now. I anticipate a lot better results with this one since it has not been hit so hard in shipping, and I will take the time to clean up any spalling or roughness before using it. I learned to assemble everything except for the motor link and then rock the racks all the way in both directions, while feeling for any binding or roughness first. I cannot express how worth while the time spent doing this will be.

The egg holders are too small for the quail eggs I ordered. They could have reduced the number of eggs to increase the space for each individual egg. The overlap does not allow for 120 eggs to fit without there being contact.UpdateI am still very unsatisfied with this design and materials. I suggest taking a rail out in the center to allow taller quail eggs to clear the turning radius. I'm losing eggs daily to the turner catching the tops and breaking them. It was like racking pool balls when I originally placed them, now I'm having to do quick changes in the middle of incubation. Unacceptable.I maintain my opinion that the individual egg cups are too small. The sides of the turner rails need to be cut shorter to give more clearance for taller eggs. The finished product needs to be cleaner. There is too much scrap left on the edges. It shows how little they care about their final product. The product turns eggs, and breaks them, and crushes them. The smell is terrible. A deep clean is not possible during incubation, so you just have to deal with it.For the price I paid for this I think it should be a better quality product. I'm reducing my review from 3/5 to 2/5 stars.UpdateReducing review to 1/5 stars. The product in the picture is not what you're going to get. That item looks well made and sturdy. You're going to get a flimsy and brittle plastic.I got the product in October of 2018. The motor for the turner stopped working in the middle of an incubation cycle.

I attempted to hatch eggs last year without the automatic egg turner. It was too much....having to be around three times a day for 28 days. And, then, after all that, I had a power outage and lost them all anyway. So, this year I bought this Hova-Bater Incubator Automatic Egg Turner. What a game changer. I was skeptical as it doesn't really turn the eggs but gently tilts them forward and back. I have now successfully hatched 100% of my guinea eggs! All heathy keets. So happy! This, along with the incubator, are perfect for a hobbyist. I am off to look for another guinea nest to raid since when I allow my hens to sit I lose the eggs and the hen. I highly recommend! Honestly, if I can do this, anyone can.

The product itself is durable. Easy instructions allow for smooth interchange between chicken or quail slots. Chicken eggs fit comfortably within each divot - it'll get a little crowded if you do larger duck or turkey eggs.Worked great inside my Genesis. Timely clicks assured the eggs were always tilting. Successfully hatched (98%) a combined batch of Ringneck-Pheasants and Chickens.I used to hand turn each individual egg so I can definitely say it was wonderful to not have to time my outings to get back to roll eggs over! Will always use the auto-turner from now on.
