These were fairly simple to setup and install. I did have to read the directions as I was not exactly familiar with the different modes and what each button actually did. I have two of these and was able to easily set one up as master and one as slave (only need to change settings on the master and the slave follows the same settings). Working great in my 75g African Cichlid aquarium so far, but I can only hope they last longer than my previous powerheads. I will update this review if they fail prematurely.

Great Value:The Hygger 2114 GPH Aquarium Inverter Wavemaker Pump is a solid choice for those looking for a cost-effective powerhead. No, it’s not the most expensive powerhead out there, and yes, there’s a wire in the tank, but for the price, it’s hard to beat. I could buy 12 of these for the cost of just one from the pricier brands.Dependable Performance:I’ve been running this powerhead in my 50-gallon low boy frag tank for over two months now without a single hiccup. It’s been reliable in keeping the water circulation going strong, which is crucial for maintaining the health of the corals. Given the low cost, I did buy three extras just in case one ever bites the dust, but so far, they’ve stayed in reserve.Practical Considerations:The powerhead comes with a magnetic base and an LED controller, making it easy to position and adjust. While it may lack some of the bells and whistles of more expensive models, it does exactly what it needs to do—keep the water moving effectively in my frag tank.Final Thoughts:If you’re looking for an affordable, reliable powerhead for your aquarium, the Hygger 2114 GPH Wavemaker is a great option. It’s not the fanciest out there, but it gets the job done. With a few spares on hand, you’re covered if anything goes wrong, though in my experience, it’s been smooth sailing so far.

I have 3 hygger wavemakers, and several other aquarium products from them as well, and they are all great. This wavemaker is no exception. It's the smaller version of the wavemakers I already have, which is awesome for my saltwater tank. This one sits on the back to blow into the colliding side pumps and create turbulence that is great for the fish and corals to help recreate a more natural turbulence that occurs in the ocean. The controller is great, plenty of pattern options and it can pair to multiples so.you can use one controller to control multiple of the same pump. I love hygger, they're becoming a big name in the aquarium hobby and their products are priced where you can't beat it. 10/10, highly recommend.

I have turned it on and it is really quiet without water of course but if it’s loud outside of water it’ll be loud inside water I guess. Pretty small which is perfect for a 20 gallon just to get some water movement. Feels high quality. Will update when I finish the tank setup but so far I’m impressed

This is a good powerhead that generates a fair amount of controllable flow. It is super easy to install into the aquarium, using just a magnet puck, but programming the thing is a huge pain. Even with the manual, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I love that it can be linked to other powerheads to create more complex flow patterns. I also love the control that the 20 different speed settings allow, which is much better compared to my other hygger wave maker which only has 4 speeds. It also comes with a cover for the intake to prevent anemones and other soft bodied inverts from getting sucked in. Overall I'm pretty happy with this, and the black color blends in nicely with other equipment.

I received this recirculation pump from Amazon buying program so here is my honest review: this Hygger (this brand always seems to exceed my expectations) recirculation pump works very well even in densely planted tanks, and what I find is that my cichlids enjoy the flow without being overwhelmed. I would definitely recommend this if you have a large or planted cichlid tank. It was easy to install and the power is excellent, not sure about durability but this brand has always seemed to hold up. I would definitely recommend this recirculation pump, and the controls make it ideal for customization.

This aquarium wavemaker pump is powerful and does a great job creating turbulent flow at the top of my tank for better oxygenation. With a second pump attached, it’s also able to clear detritus off the substrate and push it toward the filter inlet, helping keep the tank cleaner overall. The main downside is the controller. It’s definitely the weak link in the system. The different modes are confusing, and even after trying them all, I’m still not sure what some of them are supposed to do. It feels like the instructions could be clearer or the interface could be more intuitive. This is the first Hygger product that I’m not 100% satisfied with, but despite the controller issues, the pump itself works well and meets my needs. If you can deal with a bit of trial and error on the settings, it’s still a solid option.

I have used this wave maker for about a month and I can say that I will most likely not be purchasing another. Sure it’s decent for a budget reef tank but not for me. I have recently had issues with it making a clicking noise like the blade is hitting the side or a piece of sand is in it. After cleaning it goes away for a bit then the noise returns. I recently added a little bubble tip anemone and I turned it off while the anemone was acclimating to the tank and finding a good spot. I turned it back on and the controls worked fine and now they are froze. I can unplug it and plug it back and still doesn’t want to let me adjust it. I’d send it back but I don’t have the box….the one time I throw out the box for aquarium equipment. Like a said good for a budget reef but the controls don’t work now and I get stuck with the clicking noise. Seems pretty strong for a 40 breeder I had the flow on a level 5 out of 100 and still pretty strong
