Got this for a dog that’s new to disk. Figured the softer texture might help him commit to grabbing the frisbee. Ultimately he was too tough on it and it lots it’s shape after he ‘taco’d it and now it doesn’t fly straight. Had to go to the Kong disks for a softer frisbee but one that will still fly straight after being bent upon retrieval.

Its a good frisbee. I own several for my frisbee nut. Its the only kind he won’t chew up and destroy. The dog in question’s birthday is this week. He’s turning 4. I thought a yellow frisbee would be a great way to commemorate since he seems attracted to all kinds of yellow things. Unfortunately they sent a pink one. Pink frisbee has been commandeered by birthday boy’s sister. There’s no way I’m getting it back. I’d definitely be in the dog house if I tried to return it. I’m pretty sure the pink frisbee was a ploy by Big Frisbee to get me to order another one in the right color.

Purchased this for a fun little disc as I left my hyperflex at home. This was a smaller disc and soft. My dog isn't a chewers, so it was fine, until another dog grabbed it and destroyed it in seconds. If your dog is not a chewers, this disc is fine. If your dog chews at all, purchase a sturdier disc.

I recently bought a Hero disc for my Border Collie, but I noticed she was reluctant to bite it to catch it. I did some research and decided to give this one a shot. She is catching much better now. It is a nice soft material that is sturdy enough for good throws.

It important that you know two things when teaching a dog to catch frisbee. First off, you need to learn to throw the frisbee so it can be safely caught by your dog, and secondly in this learning phase for you, (and your dog), you should use a soft frisbee.I like this disc. It's regulation size and shape, flies well, but most importantly will not injure your dog if you throw errantly, and it hits the dog straight in the mouth.I read many examples of people buying discs for dogs that will chew the disc to pieces. Obviously, your dog is not ready then for a plastic disc. It needs to be more excited about running and catching than chewing.I started out using "Chuck It" or "Nerf" discs. These are ultra soft and durable. Your dog will catch them at first and then shake the bee jee bees out of it, but it doesn't tear. You then progress to the Sofflite featured here. When you are proficient in throwing short and long distances, you can then progress to a standard grade K-10 Competition disc.Avoid the big heavy discs like from KORE or the ones made from very heavy plastic used for Frisbee golf. These can hurt your dogs mouth, and break teeth.I've read that the disc floats.

Its very easy to throw and maintain constant high and speed despite I'm a terrible frisbee operator and the dog catches it easily.Perfect size for smaller breed ( mine is 35 lbs)Its slightly softer but not too soft and floppy so it's comfortable for my dog's mouth.I'm aware it's still punched through with bite marks but my dog has harder bites.I still give it 5 stars because the whole user experience is excellent ( me and the dog together). Maybe I will try other model under the same brand for harder bites dog.

10 throws with a very experienced catcher, holes in frisbee. NO chewing. Just from catching it in the air. Its not called "sof (t)" for nothing. VERY SOFT.

This honestly is an amazing frisbee and as you can see has been played with a lot haha.Hyper flite never fails to impress me with their frisbees. This has been awesome when my dog wants to play casual, and not wanting to catch hard discs.I would say the quality is good for soft dogs that don’t want to chew up the disc , but I would say it may not last long for chompy dogs who like to rough house with their discs. But after all you can’t blame this frisbee because it was made for calmer dogs with disc drive .If your dog is not that crazy on his frisbees I would buy this, if he’s a chomper get him a hyperflite jawz!

In a single sentence, these are VERY soft, fly extremely well, and are well priced.I bought these for my 50lb, 1 year old female Australian Shepherd, as a gateway between the pet store "toy" frisbees that she loved as a puppy, and into the more serious world of adult dog frisbees. These were PERFECT for that! It's taking her some practice to learn how to catch (and pickup) a semi-rigid frisbee and these don't seem to hurt her mouth at all. On the other hand her adult teeth are making a quick end to the first three I bought her, but I expected as much. Will buy the CS model as the next step.In a nutshell, these are great for introducing a dog to Frisbee, but adult teeth will quickly puncture these. Think of them like training wheels on a bicycle... you want your child to outgrow training wheels as quickly as possible, right? Think of these the same way.

I just need to train my dog to catch it mid-air instead of waiting for it to drop to the ground LOL

It flies well & she likes jumping for it. She can catch it & carry it far. I think it got chewed in a few minutes. It looks battered, but does fly. I wish I had better before & after picks of just day 1. She's a big time chewer!

I have a lab/boxer and a sheepdog. The Sheepdog plays every day with this and she is a heavy chewer, smart chewer - she is the dog that can get the noise maker out of the middle of a toy in 5 minutes. These have after a year's worth of use, held up extremely well. I keep having to buy more of them because I suck at throwing frisbee's - I keep throwing them in trees and on my roof. She plays regularly with these and this is the brand to purchase. The frisbee's stay outside all year. These don't crack or break, and they do not hurt her mouth at all. She is addicted to them. The glow in the dark one does not glow that well, that would be my only complaint about them. Don't waste your money on cheaper frisbee's. This is the real deal and safe for your pets. I get good distance with these and height. She jumps in the air and flips over backwards sometimes jumping to catch it. This is not a paid review.
