The guards themselves are nice quality. However, the instructions refer to a “V” notch that isn’t there, they don’t suggest how to cut them to fit, and it’s next to impossible to cut them straight. Our daughter’s just a occasional skater, so perfection and highest quality wasn’t a need.

I have reduced weight blades with wider width of the casing holding the blade. These guards are rigid, not allowing to fully insert the blade inside.Also, plastic is too rigid. I’m afraid it would be too slippery on solid surfaces.my blades for reference: matrix legacy.

First- points off for the product not REMOTELY resembling the pictures in the instructions. It’s like the instructions were created for an entirely different product. The instructions kept referencing cutting at the center of the closest “V notch” (see photos) only - there are no such “V notches” on the guard.There are also no caps or washers for the open ends of the screws, so at any point the spring loop could work itself off the screw.Lastly- there were no recommendations for what tool to use when cutting down the guards. We used then abandoned a small hand saw, a pair of utility scissors and ultimately 2 serrated kitchen knives- which are now dull to the point of no longer being useful in my kitchen.It took 2 smart people over 90 minutes to complete the project- too much for an inexpensive “easy” fix to protect my new blades.We’ll see how the guards hold up with daily use.

I wasn’t super sure if I put them on correctly but they’re so cute! I love them so much! My blades are 10 1/3 and they fit perfectly!

My daughter is new to ice skating and from our limited experience, these guards seem to be good quality, just like any of the others we were looking at on Amazon. The only downside is that the color does not seem to exactly match the picture - which for her is fine, she likes the color - but posting pictures here for others to reference. Our skating bag (also bought on Amazon) as a blue in the background for reference.This is after the guards have been cut and fitted to her blade.
