My dog is 50lbs wearing a medium. It looks and feels great plus the martingale function is a bonus. I would recommend this collar for any large to xl dog.

I have a dog that fits the end of the leash pretty hard sometimes when she sees another dog or just gets excited. More than once a leash or call her has broken she's taking off running. One time after chasing her and finally tackling her I was stuck with no leash and no collar and no way to really get her home. Neighbor had sympathy and came out with a spare collar and leash. The collar was one of these. Not having any kind of a clasp there is nothing to break and because it acts a bit like a choke collar (it only closes so far so it doesn't actually choke) it's impossible for her to slip out of as well. I went and bought one for each of my other two dogs... a different color each. One of those dogs passed and I have a new puppy who now also has one. I'll never buy it another kind

I don't think I will ever buy collars from another company. I have two of these one with the buckle and one without. I like both but the one with the buckle is easier to get on and off quick and also holds it's tightness when wet whereas the non-buckle style is great for everything except water as it slides when wet. But this version is made with different fabric and is versatile as far as activities it works for. My puppy tries to escape her collar and these are perfect for thwarting her escape efforts. The 1.5 inch thick collar is much more comfortable and seems less damaging to my pups throat when she does pull. And on top of all those great quality's these collars are beautifully made. This collar was exactly what I was looking for to take my dog outside. Due to my dogs egg shaped head the martingale is a must and I wanted one I could clip on and off with ease for taking him out to potty. This collar is nice and wide, looks good and is well made. I do have a separate one without a clip we use for walks because he’s a tank and I don’t want to chance him breaking a clip event though this one seems very durable.

LOVE this collar. Most people don’t adjust their flat collars on appropriately, which is why sometimes dogs can slip out of their collars. The perks of a martingale is that it can stay loose without your dog escaping out of it!!Another great thing about this is that it’s very easy to wash with just some soap and hot water under a sink. It looks almost brand new again!There aren’t many wide martingale collars on the market, let alone on Amazon. So I can’t express how awesome this collar is, it goes without saying that this is worth the price.I’m planning on buying another collar from this company from their direct website and getting a custom design!If there’s something I can critique, I wish this collar had a designated spot to hang dog tags. Yes, you can hang it from the metal D ring for your leash, but that’s usually how dog tags get lost/broken. If you have an escape artist dog, you definitely don’t want the dog tags to come off! I did get a little creative with it, and attached my dog tags to the other metal part of the collar. For a high price point of a collar though, I think it goes a long way to have a designated attachment for dog tags & I think it just makes collars look much more clean & premium.

Just bought the martingale without buckle in blueberry for my Blue Great Dane and she hasn't broken it yet. I've gotten her 6 collars in the last 2 months that snap, unravel or just fall apart. She lunges on her leash and jumps then the collar fails. Then she runs the neighborhood before coming back home. 150 pounds is a lot to ask a collar to hold up against but If it barks makes them. I also saw they custom make any size, a definite plus. She has lunged and jumped but this collar didn't even loosen. I am very impressed with the quality and attention to the details. The stitching is well reinforced and the added accent colors make it stand out. It looks like I'll be a customer Forever. I will update this review if anything changes, but I'm fairly sure it will last. They will even custom make to your size and width needs.Update...No escaping great dane, yay! This may be the best collar I've ever used! A hopping, and lunging to say hi, my150 pound dog is cute to us, but when her collar breaks and she lopes toward strangers in can be quite alarming and shocking. Still best collar but a claw snagged the ribbon as seen in closeup photos. Best is that this collar, along with a spring ended coated cable, self corrects by the Martingale reminding her of her limits without any pain like pinch chain. Long winded review but I do this to help other furry family members obedient and safe!

I love this thick martingale collar (I got the grape crush colour) for my 60 lb lab mix! We've been using it for about 6 weeks now. I feel like it's very escape-proof (nothing is 100%), so long as you size properly for your dog's neck, and the thickness of this collar is (probably - I can't ask her) more comfortable on her neck than thin/regular collars. I do wish there was a designated little ring/spot to attach an ID tag like every other collar I've ever seen has! So that is disappointing but I've found a workaround (I've attached her tag to the metal part of the collar that isn't the big ring for the leash) and otherwise I'm super pleased with this collar and I would recommend it. The price is pretty high but it's basically impossible to find a thick martingale with a buckle....so it is what it is. I'm glad this product exists!

I've been looking for a martingale collar with specific features - 1.5" for better distribution of pressure, quick release buckle, 12" neck circumference, and high quality. Most martingales miss on one or more on my list, which has been frustrating. The only other option was to custom order one which I didn't want to do. My puppy at the time was in between neck sizing for most martingales. Too big for a small and not big enough for a medium, which is weird. And most only come in 1" widths. In any case, I was surprised to find this and purchased this immediately. It's high quality and sturdy. The quick release is a big beefy plastic buckle. The adjustment buckle and leash D-ring are sturdy metal. The collar is a very nice smooth material. It doesn't chafe or irritate the dog and the color does not bleed. It has helped our puppy with leash pulling training. She's 50lbs now and we have no concerns with the durability of this collare. She's pretty well trained so we don't use it as often as we used to. I highly recommend this as one of the BEST martingale collars you can find.
