Action cam meravigliosa.

I think action cams have become so available now that there's not MUCH difference between the video and sound quality or features on any of them. So it all basically comes down to usability, form factor and price. This is an 8K action cam, I think the only 8k currently available and it's a great little camera. There's a few bad bits, in that as standard you'd be expecting an action cam to be waterproof, with this one you need to change the microphone cover before taking it in the water. Seems a bit of a step sideways if not backwards. It's got a decent form factor and all of the menu functions are easy to use with the touch screen. The touchscreen really sets this apart from the rest. It's super clear, mega responsive and you can swivel it so you can see what's going on in vlogging/selfie mode.Video quality is superb, clear and crisp colours and the sound is great too (even better with external bluetooth mic). This camera is a lot better in use with the Insta360 app, makes shooting so much easier. Swap settings, start timelapse etc is so much more straightforward and clear with the phone app. It connects easily and just works. It's also quite handy if you have any other Insta cameras as you only need the one app.You do have to buy a high quality micro SD card as in my experience the insta360 camera tend to freeze or overheat when using a card that's too slow. So a V30 A2 card is needed. I personally went with a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO microSDXC with A2 App Performance, UHS-I Class 10 U3 V30 which is nearly lways on offer on Amazon for less than £15 and I've had no issues at all.As you'd expect from an action cam this thing just works really well and is perfect for any kind of filming, extreme or otherwise. Just that need to switch out some stuff depending on use lets it down ever so slightly

There is a lot to like about this camera, I would say for vlogs this is head and shoulders the best as the flip screen makes it much easier than the little front screen on my other cameras, the 8k looks superb and edits well too, the app makes editing very easy, menu and power up power down is fast and snappy, no downsides at all really, good value too, 5 stars from me insta360 did great with this camera.

This is my first action camera, and to me it seems top of the line. I was a professional photographer in my younger days, and I often used Leica lenses in my better equipment. In my opinion, Leica makes some of the best optics in the world. I also know know a sharp image when I see one, and this little camera does the job.I got this primarily to record my grandson’s budding motorsports career. I’ve only done a little bit of experimenting with it so far, and everything works exactly as expected. There will be a bit of a learning curve to get the most out of this great little camera. I’m especially interested in the underwater possibilities. It seems a little bit pricey, but it also seems like this is a situation in which you get what you pay for.

As a photographer and videographer who obsesses over image quality and loves gear that can take a beating, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 has officially ruined other action cams for me. And I mean that in the best way.Let’s start with the obvious: this thing shoots 8K. That’s not a typo. And not just “it technically records 8K” — I mean legit sharp, detailed, “pause this and frame it” 8K footage. When I drop down to 4K at 120fps for silky b-roll, it’s so smooth and clean it makes my gimbal feel unemployed.Low light? Ridiculously good. Insta360 and Leica clearly sat down and said, “Hey, let’s make an action cam that can actually see in the dark without looking like a watercolor painting.” The PureVideo Mode is a game-changer — shadows hold detail, colors don’t turn into mush, and noise? What noise? The dual AI chip setup is no gimmick either. Image processing is lightning fast, and the noise reduction is subtle but effective. Even with fast motion or tricky lighting, I’m getting usable, dynamic shots that need way less cleanup in post. The Active HDR at 4K60 makes outdoor shoots sing — skies stay blue, shadows stay punchy, and nothing blows out unless you’re filming the sun (and even then… it tries).I’ve used it for moto shoots, ski runs, hiking vlogs, and some impromptu food content (because why not), and it keeps up without missing a beat. FlowState Stabilization is still the king — handheld, helmet-mounted, or even strapped to a pole, the footage looks gimbal-smooth without any of the bulk.Audio-wise, I was ready to write it off like most action cams — but the new Wind Guard actually works. I don’t sound like I’m narrating in a hurricane anymore. Bonus points for being able to snap it on/off depending on what I’m shooting.Oh, and the flip screen? That 2.5" touchscreen is surprisingly sharp and bright. No more squinting to see if I’m in frame or if my horizon is straight. Huge quality-of-life win.To sum up: the Ace Pro 2 is a beast. It feels like someone crammed a mirrorless camera into an action cam body, handed it Leica glass, and told it to go nuts. If you’re serious about content and want actual pro quality from something that fits in your pocket, stop scrolling. Buy it. You’ll thank yourself later.(Also: don’t be surprised if you start using it more than your main camera. Just saying.)

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 sets a new benchmark in action cameras, particularly excelling in low-light performance and built-in stabilization. Equipped with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and dual AI chips, its Pure Video mode delivers exceptional clarity in dim environments, reducing noise and naturally brightening footage. This advancement positions it ahead of competitors

I’ve only had this for a day, but I have shot quite a bit of footage on it. I have literally no complaints yet aside from the fact that the first time you use the camera, you will have to connect a phone and then you will have to go through tutorial mode, which makes me feel like a child. I’m not sure if that’s worth permanently losing the star, but I’ll put it through more pieces and come back here with more info when I can. If I could give it a nine out of 10, I think I would be pretty happy with that.

Having used both GoPro and DJI action cameras, I approached this review very critically. Even so, this camera gets a great score despite its flaws.Pros:- 8K video- GREAT low light performance- Crisp picture and native color saturation- Good stabilization- Flip out screen- Easy to use with app- WaterproofCons:- Slightly bigger than other action cams- Gets a little hot- Battery drains fast- Touch screen not super responsive- Have to change microphone cover for use in waterThe video quality is better than the other two brands I have used. Audio is also crisp. The stabilization is great as long as you are in the right mode (there are several.) The flip-out screen makes shooting from low and odd angles easier to maneuver and view. The batteries are its biggest flaw in my opinion. If you are shooting 4K120 you’re only going to get around 30 min of battery life. While I know that’s a lot to ask of an action camera running high res/fps, I am still left feeling like it should last longer than that. I recommend purchasing a bundle with multiple batteries if you intend on using it extensively. That being said, it is a really cool and fresh take on the action camera market. I can’t wait to put it through more paces once it warms up outside.
