We kept getting false alarms usually in the middle of the night. I had Brinks out once and they couldn’t find issue and then wanted to charge more than cost of this sensor to come diagnose. I figured I’d take a chance and try replacing.

I converted my alarm system to Konnected and needed something to put in place of the old number pads in several rooms. Not only do these wire up easily in parallel or series, but they cover a standard single-gang box and are easy to set up.Basically they act as a normal closed switch. An alarm condition opens to contacts for 5 seconds which signals your alarm system. SmartThings sees them as a custom window contact. Easy setup. Also they are MEANT to be on the wall unlike many other sensors like motion detectors.

I installed one sensor and it did not work with Cox Homelife. Three sensors were sent back. Note: They were purchased to replace existing glass-break sensors.
