I was nervous about ordering these as several reviews mentioned them breaking during shipping but no issues there. All containers and lids were intact. The carton was in great shape at delivery. Would definitely buy again and may look at other sizes.

Would not buy again. This thing is supposed to be tough and durable. But it’s just not the plastic is thin and cheap. I left min in the trunk of my car over night and the next morning found the bottom horribly warped. Min you this was in 70 deg weather so not ever hot.Hey on the up side now I have a wast bin for all my used resin.

These boxes continue to perform without fault. In use for more than 10 years and almost as good as new. We live on the Pacific ocean in a very hot and humid area. The boxes withstand the humidity, keeping the contents dry. The boxes we use for food storage are opened several times each day. For those, I replace the gasket in the lid once each year. I have easily repaired damage to a lid when I happen to drop something heavy on the box. Those repairs have also performed well for several years. I would buy these boxes anytime I need more storage capacity.

These storage boxes are actually a great size, stackable, and durable. They're thick plastic and the lids have a gasket and latches to seal them for long term storage. I bought a 6-pack and it was shipped in a huge box.The problem is that several latches were broken on arrival. I don't want to have to return the entire 6-pack because the box is huge and cumbersome. I'd prefer they just send me replacement latches. I called their customer service line many, many times on different days at different times and always got the answering machine. They never returned my message. I left an email at their customer service email address as well as their contact-me form, and have yet to hear a reply.Without working latches, the lid won't seal well, and the bin can't be used for long term storage.

UPDATE: Don't buy these Used on Amazon, even if it's labelled as "Very Good". I feel like maybe I don't understand "Used" on Amazon as apparently a lot of the things I've tried to get Used are DAMAGED. My latest (and third) order of these had three broken lids, one of them was majorly broken while the other two featured breakage on the plastic support bits. Unless you only want to pay for 5 bins (because the 6th will be basically unusable) with two of them having damaged lids, avoid Used.UPDATE 2: The replacement I ordered (that was supposed to be NEW) is also damaged, this time it's the bins. I contacted IRIS USA about the lids earlier, and the company is pretty hands-off—basically they don't sell replacement lids or just bins, so they recommend doing the return-and-replace method. Their customer service feels lacking. Most of the time for me, this wouldn't be a problem—but I have been trying to pack for a big move and really needed these bins in particular for certain items. Now the UPCOMING replacement is getting here in 1 WEEK and that's not soon enough. I'm removing a star, and if the next shipment is also damaged, another. This sucks, I don't understand what's happening. Maybe it's just super bad luck but it couldn't have come at a worst time. Also the lukewarm customer support reply from IRIS USA has kind of turned me off. If the third order of bins is damaged in anyway, I am giving up and buying other bins instead. These used to be so good.ORIGINAL REVIEW: These are really expensive but I really prefer them. I've bought them twice, the first time YEARS ago. I store things like camera gear and equipment plus the typical basement storage stuff. I feel like they fit a really good amount of stuff, rarely did something I own not fit into it in some way (usually they were really long things like rulers. I haven't personally had any problems with these but they don't get handled roughly. They are EXCELLENT for moving and are less curvy and not tapered like cheaper plastic bins you get at Walmart or Target or something - making them excellent for stacking. At about 5 bins, a stack does jiggle a little but I don't think it would fall over. 4 bins stacked are very sturdy. I really liked these so I had to buy more after a few years, but yes, the price is a little sweat-inducing. The negatives are small but I should mention them... I do think the foam seals are/can be a little wonky on a few of the bins, but I would hope they are easy to replace in the event that they deteriorate, become warped,or are damaged. To me they look pretty much like weather sealant strips you could get at the hardware store. The second minor gripe I have with these are that, while there are four latches on each bin going length-wise, the fact that there aren't any on the short sides sometimes make those short sides seem not...sealed enough. If that makes sense. All the security and tight seal are emphasized on the long edge, which I understand and theoretically it makes total sense, but I just noticed that the sides without latches on them have a questionable seal. Only time will tell if this gets better or worse or is just not a big deal. Still seems to work fine.

These boxes fit perfectly on my 18” deep HDX storage shelving unit from Home Depot that I was looking for storage boxes better than the HDX storage boxes that you would think would work well together. These Iris brand boxes have almost 90 degree corners and smooth sides to maximize interior space (vs. HDX boxes that are black and yellow have corrugated sides and narrow in size from top and bottom).I’d say the dimensions shown on Amazon for the Iris boxes were completely accurate. I wanted them to store anything that I’d like to keep airtight and bug-free. I live in a humid climate and tend to have ants no matter what. I put in things like unopened sugar, flour, dry cat food, boxes of mac and cheese, pasta, rice a roni - things that have loose ingredients in paper or cardboard packaging.I like that these boxes are see-through enough to view the contents to know which box to grab my stuff. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of the 6 sets of boxes and lids I ordered, two sets were unusable (2 boxes had a broken handle, 2 lids had cracked pieces broken off - so 30% of the ordered arrived broken - cracks and holes in the product defeats the purpose of being airtight so we’ll use them as open bins in our tool shed). I had read reviews of this before buying and think this is because of they way they are packed before shipping - no padding to protect them during transit.Otherwise I think the boxes and lids that are still usable will serve my purpose well. I have purchased Iris brands before - jumbo cat litter boxes, and airtight pet food storage bins - I am generally always satisfied with product design and still have in use all of the Iris products I have bought in the past. This is the first time I have gotten anything with a defect upon arrival.

Nice product. There is a (plastic/foam/rubber?) gasket that helps seal the lid. The catches seem to be good quality. It's not a supertight seal but should do the job.And the delivery was to my back door so it wouldn't be stolen from the front steps. Nice of the delivery person to tromp through the snow and ice to get to the back door. I appreciate that.

I was a bit hesitant to order these because of some of the other reviews stating some of the set arrived with their handles broken off, but after I saw they were on sale I took the chance and ordered anyway. I was pleasantly surprised when they did arrive. They arrived packed in an Amazon box and upon opening that box, I found they were even packed in their own box inside of the Amazon box. So, they were well protected. They also work perfectly for my needs. I use them to store open rolls of filament for 3D printing. Not only can I fit 10 standard rolls neatly in the bottom, but there's still room for desiccant packs and a thermometer/hygrometer plus room for a couple more rolls on top. Much more roomy than the previous storage containers I was using. I realize that moisture can still get in if you're opening these frequently, but they are perfect for long term storage as the foam seal helps keep moist air from seeping in unnecessarily.
