Why Nikon made the original foot a non-standard size is beyond me. The first thing I did when I got my 100-400mm lens was to order one of these.Apart from the fact it's Arca Swiss compatible, this one also has a few different points where you can attach straps, such as the Peak Design ones. The one on the front is also 1/4-20, so you could probably use it as a mounting point for an external monitor. If you use it as a handle on top of the lens, it's bigger and way better balanced than the original. There are other aftermarket versions of this that are two or three times the price that don't seem to do anything different and frankly would be a waste of money in my opinion.A few reviewers have mentioned it's a bit loose until you tighten the knob. The original is like that too, that's why the knob is there.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

I wanted to swap out the OEM foot for my Z 70-200mm so I could have a built in Swiss arca foot. I read mixed reviews about the angled end. I do carry it by the foot when I have a heavy lens and I do have larger hands. The angled end didn't bother me. I also liked that that was the spot for a harness if you so choose.

got this foot to replace the oem lens foot for new nikon z600/6.3.arca dovetail fits perfectly on tripod with arca style head clamp.the foot as extra 1/4 inch toward camera body, which helps balance.precisely machined.and price is one-third the big name lens foot.only negative is the angled toe of the foot, not sure just why they did this.i keep wanting to grab with four fingers, but can get used to the smaller length and two finger grab.

It's beyond understanding why Nikon doesn't just create an Arca compatible lens foot. Instead a plethora of third-party ones have been made ranging from $40 to $150. What is often the case is that you get what you paid for.It is described as being made of aircraft aluminum and it does seem to be as durable as the original foot. The finished is described as anodized, but I'm skeptical of Chinese products claiming that when it is often just paint. The foot fits on my Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 S. It clamps and hold the lens in place. The design with an upward curve at the front of the foot works out better than expected when hand carrying the lens. The 1/4"-20 screw hole on the front is a great place to add a D-ring that snaps onto my strap. The locking knob is large enough to grasp firmly. With all this going for it, why only 4-stars?The description says it's "taylor-made" for the two Nikon Z lenses. I have both these lenses. Unlike the more expensive brands such as Kirk, RRS, or Wimberley, this foot doesn't match the curves of the collar and the edges don't line up with the base of the collar. It looks rather clunky when attached, like a universal foot instead of a model specific foot. The more expensive brand's curves flow right into the curve of the lens collar. I know it's a minor thing, but I guess that's what you get for the price.Other than the fit, it's functional and it works.

A solid well-made foot marred by the Safety switch sticking into the area you would use to carry the lens. The switch is always biting into my fingers. The product would be 5 stars if the design is changed to a flush mounted switch.

I bought the iShoot Metal Lens Collar Foot Stand Tripod Mount Ring Base Compatible with Nikon Nikkor Z mount tripod collar for use with my new NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S on my old Manfroto 498RC2 monopod with a ball head. But first I had to replace the old funky Manfroto quick release head with the haoge Cp-58 adapter for Manfroto ball heads. So, this is actually a review of both products. First, I put the CP-58 adapter on the monopod and tightened down really well. The ishoot lens foot fit right into the Arca Swiss plate and was easy to lock into position. Next came putting the camera and lens on. The collar ring base on the lens slide on and snapped to the lock position nicely. When I tightened the collar to the ishoot foot everything was rock solid. This foot costs way less that the Really Right Stuff LCF-14 foot at $110.00or even the Kirk Lens Foot LP-70 for Nikon at $90.00 does the job either one of them would do. Why pay more?

I put this on a Nikon 100mm-400mm f4.5-5.6 S lens last night and it held tight throughout an imaging session that lasted a few hours while the temp dropped from the 60s to low 40s. The balance is correct and the two finger grip is also sturdy. My Black Rapid strap hook fits through either hole in the rear, too.

When I saw the photo originally I did not think I would like the upturn at the front of the foot, but that actually makes it easier to use it like a handle. It feels more secure in my hand, than if it was just straight. Some of the other brands mentioned they had to modify the foot to get it to fit, but mine fit correctly straight out of the box on my Nikon Z 70-200 f2.8 lens. I have had it for two months now and it has not come loose. Why Nikon does not make the stock one Arca Swiss compatible is baffling, but this one is a good replacement, especially at this price. This works with my Benro B1, Benro B3, and Benro GD3WH (Geared head) without any slop.

This is a great alternative to the stock foot on my Nikon z 70-200 lens. It’s a shame that Nikon hasn’t figured out that an Arca Swiss foot should be standard.I like the way the front turns up a bit, and I use the hole there to mound a camera strap. Great inexpensive choice compared to a RRS foot.
