According to amazon, I've been using this for almost 6 years. It is hands-down the most critical piece of equipment that nobody knows about in my kit. I use a lot of items that output in stereo, and I run that into PAs using XLR cables. This bridges the gap, and does it so well, nobody even knows or comments. True perfection. It spends most of it's life in my office, but enough time in the wild - fields where I'm DJing on a laptop, or emergency backup music when I'm running decks at a club or set event.I can't recommend this enough if you run consumer equipment stereo outputs and want to sum to a mono signal xlr.

These are a “must have” item for my line of work. I’m an audio technician and travel quite a bit, so these fit in my luggage no problem.

It works like it should. It takes stereo unbalanced 3.5 to summed mono balanced xlr with isolation transformers. Great for running that laptop, phone, MP3, ect. to a lectern some distance away from the board without hum.

This little Isopod worked really well. I purchased 2 of them to connect a computer to my audio console. They worked well and the compact size was helpful because space was limited.

Awesome product for converting stereo to mono in a snap! It saved my day. I have a Fender 500 Pro sound system that does not have any monitor outputs. It is not meant to run monitors. But I could take the stereo out, and using the Isopod, convert it to a mono signal for sending the house mix to my powered monitors. This solved a problem that Fender 500 Pro owners have been talking about since 2014. Worked like a charm, and so easy! Worth the $56 or so bucks for the Isopod!

Saving me hours of work by going in and editing my music files. Not only does it fix that "why the heck is once channel cancelling the other??" problem, but it also puts both sides on one track. Some of my oldies music has the left and right channel doing different parts. This takes care of that and does not at all damped the sound quality. I would not want to gig without it.ALSO my Mackie board usually has a high pitch whistle (very subtle) when connected to my PC, with this (running out the 1/8 headphone jack) nothing. So that is a positive for me!

This Whirlwind Isopod worked perfectly with our sound board. I have used this with both a Windows 8.1 laptop and an Apple TV. The audio was very crisp and clear with either source and it effectively eliminates any hum that can occur when going from a digital to analog PA system or mixer. For Apple TV, which has a digital optical (Toslink) output port in the back, you will need a digital to analog converter to convert the audio. The price was economical as well.
